Really don't understand the hatred of him. He's not overly talented so why do people hate him? He tries his best for us and has been a very very good servant, especially for a free transfer fee and has scored a lot of important goals. I understand fans hating players who don't put a shift in, but ones who don't have a lot of talent but make the most of it, i don't understand.

I think hes well liked. Just not the level of player we aspire to.

I like him as a person but not as a player. I don't mind when he comes on to support the striker but whenever he starts I just sigh and look at our teamsheet and think "yeh we're not a Top 4 XI". He has some ability but nothing close to what I want to see in an Everton shirt let alone starting Premier League games.

...I just wanted to use the word spanner in relation to Naismith.

Hah! He's fine as a second-striker to come on and nick a goal in the last 20 - especially against teams we are carving open. Don't think anyone can deny that he is clinical when he gets in positions. But he's not a winger and should not be starting when we have a fully fit/avaliable team.

He remains what he should have been all along: an impact sub you put on when chasing a game. He's a passenger in a team looking to carry out a game plan. If that game plan isn't working and time is running out, he's the feller who can knock the opposition out of their comfort zone by giving him a free role.
