I've seen Stoke play and I expect a rough game tonight.

Incidentally, Everton have conceded 263 fouls this term - fewer than any other Premier League team.

Everton have drawn four of their last five League games at the Britannia Stadium, three of them 1-1.

I'll go for 1-1 again.

Is Martinez trying to sneak us back into the Europa league next season through the fair play door?

given up telling @Elong what number I am
Given up on Martinez.
Given up on giving somebody a real pasting...4yrs and counting
not given up on Warsaw yet
been at it too long now to give up on Everton though, but jeez they try my patience

Not arsed how we get it, but we need a result tonight.

Pride, passion, grit and determination is what we need tonight, not to me - to you on the halfway line for 5 minutes followed by an aimless overhit ball into the channel.

I have a feeling we will get precious little from tonight...

"Lose this and we’re 28 points from 28 games and looking over our shoulders as Stoke soar a full 14 points ahead of us" Grim.
(No, I don't know how to just quote one line of a post) Last few ended 1-1- so..... 2-1 to them?

We are talking about Stoke here, not some dead beat team...they beat us at home and are a lot better than us this season. 0-0 please Bobby

Stoke gained an undeserved win at Goodison.

BBC report; "Most of the action came in the first half, with a crunching Glenn Whelan tackle on Stones setting the early tone for a blood-and-thunder encounter."

We conceded 9 free kicks to Stoke's 15.
We had 2 people booked to Stoke's 3.
We dominated possession with 62%.
We had 5 shots on target to Stoke's 2.
Howard, Jagielka and Mirallas went off injured.
There were 17 minutes of injury time.
Walters dragged back Baines and should have been sent off.
Bojan won a penalty under a harmless challenge from McCarthy.

It was just one of those games.

We can expect another blood-and thunder encounter, but perhaps the pendulum will swing the other way tonight.

likely lineup

Howard
Coleman Stones Jags Garbutt
Besic Barry McCarthy
Lennon Lukaku Naismith

i think a simple move of drop besic and barry replace with gibson and mirallas(no other wingers)

Howard
Coleman Stones Jags Garbutt
Gibson McCarthy
Lennon Mirallas
naismith/Barkley
Lukaku

that would be my preferred line-up
naismith or barkley
either one off the bench last 20mins

I have resigned myself to a loss tonight already, this is what you have reduced me to Roberto.
Me too - so much so I'll be very very pleased with a point, thinking if we can draw at Stoke - we probably won't go down. Come on lads!!!! Get that point!!!

We don't usually win there, our last win there was the 3-2 victory in September 2008
at their place, we've drawn on each of our last 3 visits
we've won 0 of our last 4 Wednesday outings - W0 D2 L2
and it's a 7.45pm kick-off - we've won 0 of our last 6 games starting at that time - W0 D3 L3
and Mark Clattenburg will be the referee this time round & in away games with him in the middle we've won 0 of the last 5 - W0 D1 L4

Well, that's it then.

Assuming Baines is out:

Lukaku
Mirallas Naismith Lennon
McCarthy Gibson
Garbutt Jags Stones Coleman
Joel

Subs: Howard, Alcaraz, Browning, Besic, Osman, Barkley, Kone.
