To be honest Moist's management of the pair was baffling. I cut yak some slack for a long time post-injury but at the end his heart wasn't in it and he was going through the motions.
I think Saha thought he could do as he liked. The amount of times Baines has ran seventy yards and pinged in a cross that no one attacked was disgraceful.

I will be the first to agree that MOYLES handled both players very badly, but they could have maned up, not sulked it up.

It has very little to do with support or service, its about effort, its about making that run, taking up that postion, he stopped all that, hes clearly started it again for Blackburn.

Good luck to him and no I dont mean it, I hope he falls down some stairs and stubs his toe.

He played like a total cnut in his last few Seasons at Everton and it had little to do with service or support and everything to do with application.

I just don't buy that mate, but no facts can really prove or disprove what went wrong so I'll leave you with your opinion and I'll keep mine!

One key difference with Yak at Blackburn is that he's the main man for them and is definitely loved. Maybe here, when Saha became our number one, it affected him. I don't know really -- just a theory.

As for any rumours about pay rises or whatever... well they're rumours. I've not seen anyone with any reputation for inside knowledge spout these things, but if they have or do, then fair enough. I'll reassess my opinion of Yakubu somewhat.

But the bottom line for me is that, in October 2010, for a brief period, he looked boss and was putting in the effort and reaping some rewards. He was dropped inexplicably for Saha and then that was pretty much it. On the face of it, I don't really blame Yak after that. But I don't know what goes on behind the scenes, and I can accept that.

As you say, lets leave the pay rise rumours to DAMON!!!!

But I do agree it was baffling the way Yakubu was just dropped, but we dont know whats gone on behind the scenes, he may have got mouthy to the Ginger God, but its wrong to assume all blame lies with Yakubu.

I do admit Moyes should and could have done more to build bridges if needed, but hes the gaffer and he runs a tight ship, its his way or the highway.

HAHAHA Laughing here. Laughing. Short memories. Get Ow...

You know the rest.

All I have to say on this matter is that I'd take a player of lesser skill that runs his heart out for the club over someone with obvious natural talent that doesn't give a [Poor language removed] some games. This is the reason I'll love Hibbo and Osman, and after that flu game, Baines no matter what.

Yakubu probably got sick and tired of being asked to run the channels, Steve Kean actually said something in a post match interview about using Yakubu in the right way, and that he specifically told him to stay near the 18 yard box and concentrate on scoring goals.

It's no coincidence that the same has happened with other strikers, it's the Moyes way. Saying that it's Yakubu's fault when he is being asked to do a job which stops him scoring goals is silly. The same happened with Saha to an extent, the amount of times he would be running down the wings leaving us with no actual goal threat was infuriating.

The whole 'Yakubu only plays well in his first season' malarkey is laughable and always has been, because Everton is the only club where he got noticeably worse, and it was after a terrible injury.

And don't think i'm excusing their laziness, because both Saha and Yakubu didn't help themselves, but they were also both used in completely the wrong way. Saha as a lone striker being hammered with long balls was a total joke. We desperately need some good offensive minded coaching staff.

I love Straq. Love him.

That said.

Yak by a country mile. Straq doesn't even come close. Yak did the business for us and though his injury didn't help, his lack of play was more down to being in Moyes' doghouse. That's on Moyes, not Yak.

Never should have sold him. Never.

business is business. like with saha. just didnt suit us no more. who wouldnt love stracq he is a monster

But that was down to Moyes not playing him.

Had he gotten back into stride here, I have no doubt he'd have been scoring for us like he has been for Blackburn.

He had 50 post injury games to get back into his stride here and he gave us 7 goals in return...

That's an appalling return for an £11m striker who many claim to be one of the Premier Leagues' greatest goalscorers, not some loanstar from Argentina who's had zilch experience playing in a league like this.

Denis for me, seeing as he actually plays for us and is doing a good job.

Somebody needs to make a .gif of the Spurs home game last January; where he was one on one with the keeper and put in the most half arsed turn & shot (and handball claim) you've ever seen...awful.
