Strategic Review of club

Unfortunately rumours to date indicate that this is more about whether or not we go with a DOF and give them the authority or share out those responsibilities to various members of the coaching team.

In my view, this is a total sham as I have stated before that I do not believe the club has a proper documented and costed strategy/business plan.
Any employee needs to know what they are expected to deliver by the inclusion of performance indicators within the plan. These have got be be more detailed than say an ambition to qualify for europe.

Currently our only strategy appears to be qualify for europe and hope Moshiri will continue to invest. This is not fit for purpose.

The Board are responsible for setting the route forward to develop the business together with identifying how resources will be provided to facilitate this. The CEO should be involved in those discussions.

I have no faith whatsoever that any of this has ever taken place and do not believe our current owner/board will commit the time required to do so. We have an absent owner and a part-time Chairman who must be constantly juggling plates to meet the needs of his other business.

Ou CEO has a background in education which does not provide the necessary experience required to turn around a multi million pound commercial business. Also Moshiri's involvement with Usmanov gives rise to the view that they have been very lucky and not had to grow a business from the ground up.

Against this backdrop, it is no wonder we are struggling. Any strategic review should include the performances of the board and owner. Until that happens, I fear more of the same.
One thing that should be highlighted here.

'qualify for Europe' is an OBJECTIVE, not a STRATEGY. There has to be a substance behind it and a plan, like you have mentioned.

Such a thing is pointless, unless done by someone outside the football club imo. An actual strategic review needs to be done by an outsider, who'll then make their recommendations on what needs to change, and what personal need to leave the club.

There's no way in hell our board will do that though. It's all mere window dressing, to make them seem like they're doing something, when in reality they're doing nothing.

Yes agree, I was trying to be brief and yet point out that the current administration appear to view this objective as strategic direction and a plan.

I can picture it now, "Uncle Bill's Strategic Revue". There shall be high-kicking dancing girls, more glitter balls than a glitter ball cash and carry, oh and miles and miles of feather boas, and the finale shall be performed by the rarely-seen-live Everton Bored of Directors, the finale being a composition of Billy's own work, performed through the medium of mime for the delectation of the visually impaired.

Problem at the top of this club is simple.

You have Blue Bill will his self awarded titles of "Biggest Blue, Saviour of Everton), DBB who due to running a good charity has a massive inflated opinion of herself and abilities in Business - never mind how unprofessional it is to be banging a member of your staff essentially) and Moshiri - a billionaire who made his money by being an investment advisor to another billionaire - something utterly different than actually running anything.

None of them have actually ever been in charge of anything before remotely like a football club

I believe that, amongst other things, a strategic review of any business should look at the following:
1. The market place in which we operate.
2. Strategic positioning.
3. Internal organisation.
4. Our processes.
5. Financial assessment of the outlook for the business.

Answers are as follows:
1. One that we can’t afford to buy in.
2. Too near to the relegation zone.
4. We have none.
4. We have none.
5. We have no money to buy and not much worth selling. We are effectively skint.

There. Done. Could save the club weeks of admin time.

Some of these clowns involved with this so-called 'strategic review' are ones we would like out of the club once and for all. But they are hardly likely to sack themselves are they.

Turkeys, Christmas and all that.

Dear Everton

Having carried out my own strategic review, I can now share with you my findings.

You're a 'kin mess.
An absolute shitshow from top to bottom.
Every single one of you should hang your heads in shame for the disgrace which you have allowed this once great club to become.

Now every one of you koff and dont ever darken OUR door again.

Yours sincerely

The long suffering fans
