On the self scanning, I'm not too fussed using them, it's more the job losses it's causing - and if you go the one on Hanover Street Liverpool, it's chaos and the young staff they have are having a hard time keeping up.

Anything that avoids human interaction I'm usually all for - people are the worst.

But people are not as bad as them self service tills.

"unidentified item in bagging area", "you need a code" - be arsed with that. Its quicker to have a seasoned pro scan them. I don't know how to weigh kiwis to get a cost and frankly my dear reader, I don't want to know.

And society needs the jobs they replace. The entry level, flexibility, location etc - ticks a lot of boxes.

95% of my groceries come from online - shop has to employ someone to go around and pick all the stuff, as well as the driver. Helps my blood pressure, too.

Who's buying kiwis?!

Taking in other peoples parcels.

Swallowing the whole club-card/points schtick that supermarkets plug when all they're actually doing is charging you over the correct price if you don't have a club-card yet making people with them think they're making a saving (Being ripped off basically)

Paying over 4 quid for a pint.

Letting little scrotes run the streets.

Nar man, I tried online, too many missing items and sell by dates from last week.

Granted it was around covid time.

"Hey we didn't have the ice cream you wanted so we substituted it with this disgusting flavour"

Oh cheers, thanks for that lads

You can disable substitutions, or just decline the offer of a sub when they turn up. Generally you get a better substitution than what you asked for.

Suspect in some areas it can be a bit crap, but Tesco for online delivery have been brilliant over the years for me. I even use it to deliver to places whenever go away etc.

Only ever had one item past its sell by - replied to order confirmation email, refunded in mins.

Tried Asdas online shopping and that was crap.

ASDA boy me. I know you can refuse the sub but like, then I have to bloody go to the shop and get the ice cream, defeats the point.

Reason I tried delivery in the first place was so that I'd only buy exactly what I needed and not get lured into deals for snacks and beer as I walked round.

Paying to choose your seats on a flight, despite you already buying the flight ticket.
Paying to park at airports. And now ... in this brave new world ... paying just to drop somebody off. Yet people STILL flock to do it. Do the French stand for this nonsense? (Asking ... I don't know ... but they normally riot when something daft or outrageous is imposed. We just grumble and give in to our overlords.)
