I genuinely think, thanks to Fatty and Gormless, we're going to 'go with what we've got'. But I reckon, despite this, the team will play better football than last season's eye-bleed....and we'll finish top 10.

Doubt it like. Squad is badly, badly average-to-poor. Everyone beneath will strengthen too.

Bad signings aren't just for one season. A bloated squad of overpaid, post peak players will take years to fix without massive investment.

Like you I'd take comfortable midtable if the likes of Dowell, Lookman, Sandro, Holgate, Vlasic are integrated and we look to be building towards something.

If he’s good enough he’ll play.

Feel that was the same last year. His form towards the end of last season was proof that he wasn’t ready for us.

I’m not even opposed to another loan for him this season but at a club that might come up.

I'm not either, but feel this is last chance for him. "Good enough" is a difficult paradigm. Young players need game time, and luck to succeed. I feel he may get both.

Last summer I thought he showed more than enough, his performance for Forest for 2/3's of last season looked a lot better than most of our attacking players. Common didn't fancy him though.

The thing is though a starting 11 with those players in would be midtable. Not one is good / consistent enough right now to be a guaranteed 1st team player.

Sandro & Vlasic should both be sold, Dowell and Holgate should be out on loan to lower prem / newly promoted sides for regular 1st team PL experience and Lookman to rotate with a top quality LM / Siggurdsson at AM.

Hard to tell really. I’m not 100% convinced by him but not sure how anyone could be.

Boss goals for sure last season but the drop off was a worry.

I was excited when he looked great in pre season last time so won’t be getting any hopes up this time.

Whether Koeman fancied him or not the loan move was right for him last season.

We really need to avoid bad signings. Thats success for me this season, no bad signings. Then over time hopefully good ones.

I think he should have stayed really mate. We didn't have a player like him and Sigurdsson wasn't fit. But yes the loan was a good one and I think will have done him good (the good and bad).

You're right that it could go either way. I like the lad and think Silva will but thats just guesswork.

Well we are mid-table. That isn't going to change, our best players are getting near the end of their careers.

Much rather finish midtable playing the youth and building towards something that finish in similar places with Bolasie/Williams/Siggy

we finished 8th last season mate hardly mid table - if we show some ambition (looking unlikely at this stage) and made 3-4 good signings to compliment Pickford, Coleman, Gana, Walcott, Siggurdsson and Tosun we will have a decent season imo. My concern is we are not making any concrete moves other than registering interest when the clock is ticking.
