Summer 2018 Transfer Window

Don’t really understand how can West Ham be spending so much money...already spent 95 millions in this transfer window...and stay within financial FairPlay. Don’t recall them selling any players unless it’s a giving that Arnautovic is leaving for big money??? As it stands we are falling behind them and Leicester...very disappointing window and zero ambition from the club who seems to only be concerned in balancing the books.

FairPlay is an excuse people use. We have plenty room to sign players but our issue is either. :Lack of funds, Lack of ambition, or new mandate of not wanting to overspend and negotiate for value. Let’s hope it’s the latter.

You do realise that every club in the league gets around 150m a year from Sky.

No Premier League club has to worry about FFP.

Leicester have just sold there best player.

West ham, have made a couple of 'on paper' good signings, but no guarentee

FFP is over three seasons not three weeks so they've plenty of time to balance it out. Would expect a few departures as well.

Plus most transfers arent paid in cash, most transfers are paid over a 3 year period, some sooner, some longer.

Hence why we need to be a little prudent, we are still paying for loads of players we have bought over the last 2 years.

Silva - I'll sign the players I want
Marco Silva is confident Everton’s power brokers will deliver the “players I ask them for” with less than a month of the transfer window left, writes Phil Kirkbride who spoke to the new Blues boss in Austria after the club record 22-0 win in his first match in charge.
SIlva told the ECHO:

“We have our targets and we have already decided the positions we want to improve in our squad.
“We believe in all of our players but, for sure, we will do that and we have decided our targets.
“Our board, our chairman, our sporting director, they are doing everything they can to give me the players I ask them for.”

Excellent now back him Everton.

Oh Marco, I’m sure you’ll learn the hard way

They played a similar amount of minutes.

Very similar stats in goals, assists, shots etc

DCL massively higher in how often he headed it and Abraham in dribbles.

I like both, personally rate Abraham as a much better finisher but when he has played against Championship defences in cup games DCL has looked really effective so it might just be significantly easier.

I'm not a massive fan of either, but I just don't see DCL as ever capable of banging in 20 goals in a season. But no, I'm not a big Abraham fan at all. I could see him EVENTUALLY getting good, he's just too slight and weak to be effective. Not sure he has the first touch to ever be great, either, just saying.

It might not always be the board. We seem to struggle to convince some players of quality to join us every summer. It's the problem when you are considered a midtable/top ten team by most modern players. It's a hard pattern to break you can only do it through having a good core of experience, good coaching, youth development and spotting emerging talents that fit your system.
