Yeah, they did that whole survey thing where they clocked guys during matches as I recall. Last one I saw had Keane as top 2or 3 for Burnley and Dyche claimed he was the second fastest guy in the team behind Gray. It’s just not that important as a CB.
Top speed tends to be irrelevant in football. When they did the survey another time a while back Fellaini and Bilyaletdinov came out as our two fastest players. Andy Carrol was the fastest for the RS, none of those three though could beat a man on a football pitch and would be described as slow. It has to be based on acceleration from a start over a short distance. Some players like Walcott have both, he’s got zip but can also maintain a top speed in a foot race. Others like Suarez or Messi have that zip over a few yards but could actually be beaten easily in a foot race over a longer distance.
