Silva has worked with richarlison before and knows his qualities, Tierney is more of a gamble given the league he plays in

( I do like Tierney though and think he'd be a boss signing )

But if we can afford to go 35 Million up front for him then surely we can also afford to go for 25 Million up front for Tierney? (Unless there's money issues of course)

I would also like one and ideally Loftus-Cheek but that would mean we'd have him Schneiderlin, Gana, Sigurdsson, Baningime, Davies, Dowell, Besic, McCarthy, Klaassen, and Connolly. 11 total so you'd think we'd have to get rid of 4 at least. In my thinking hopefully the last 4. With Connolly going back out on loan.

if silva/brands think Tierney is overpriced they'll look elsewhere ( ie digne ) doesn't mean we cant afford Tierney just means they don't think he's worth it

We would indeed, but I'd be happy with four in. Come August we won't have solved every problem. We could do with another CB as well.

Richarlison (a big Lukaku style 99% done)

Mina

Other players we've been repeatibly linked with are Zaha, Welbeck, Schurrle, Mawson, RLC and Tierney. Welbeck could happen,
he meets all the criteria of an Everton signing. Ex United player currently on the bench and deemed not good enough for a top 6 team and constantly injured. It’s like he’s custom made for us. I think RLC would be a sound signing but I’m guessing Chelsea will only loan him. Zaha is never happening and Schurrle is an interesting one, thought he was great at Chelsea but no idea how he’s done in Germany – the fact they are trying to get rid of him would be a concern.

I’d be very surprised if we sign more than 4 at most but it's good to read the manager actually say something and be blunt with it.

Probably not in one go. I imagine the 35m is likely spread over several instalments rather than one lump sum upfront. Can’t understand why none of the bigger teams are not in for Tierney.

I think it's important to understand just how important Richarlison is in implementing the high-pressure forward looking game he likes to play.

Look at the lads defensive statistics, he's an absolute workhouse.

I’m scarred by last summer of us overpaying for players that had no real interest in joining us. The summer before that we got strung along by a load who didn’t want to join us.

I think there needs to be that tension though mate. You will only get better players if you aim for lads who, to be blunt don't want to waste their career at a side who doesn't win trophies and rarely play in Europe.

A good coach can make them feel wanted. In their own way I think Moyes and even Martinez did this and I think Silva will too.

Part of our pitch needs to be we can take a lad like Mina and coach him so he's ready to be a top
Centre half in 2 years.

I don't think Koeman or Allardyce did this.

So far, most of the players look like they want to be here. It's a big tick for Silva. Some aren't good enough, but they all look like they are trying.

We lack a box to box man who can take us up the pitch but also protect the defence, I'd like to think Besic could do it but I have doubts. McCarthy is injured, the others are potential(Davies, Beni) or not good enough bar Sig and Gana. Someone with power and physical presence is badly needed in any midfield make up. Currently big teams will waltz through our midfield again. Looking at Silva's previous teams they've all had power in the middle he must be after someone of that type.
