Is the PL really that good? Like it was absolutely shocking last season.

It's exciting, but no, it's certainly no better than La Liga and not considerably better than the Bundesliga. Serie A and Ligue 1 aren't far behind, either.

It's all about wages. Lyon can play 30M - frankly, so can we - but not pay out the big wages unless they continue to make the CL. But they might.

I know Mina and Digne are 'on paper' very good moves for us...

Am i alone in not being excited about either of them?

don't know anything about Digne , but cant get excited about Mina at all for some reason.

I'm excited by all the names bandied about in here. That way I can proper fuuuume when Blue Bill can't find the Arteta money and the deals (inevitably) come to nowt

I think its interesting if he goes for the 2 players in front of the defence.

If he had a 'star' DM like a Busquets hes said before he would only play 1 there...so it seems like he will keep one of our existing players there and add in another.

Zakaria is interesting. He seems totally different to doucoure to me...more someone who sits back and positions himself to give and receive simple passes. Doucoure is all about power.
Key is that at 21 Zakaria is a long term option who can be moulded into a position.

Really? I think they have similar qualities. Zakaria runs forward with the ball and gets forward quite a bit. Doucoure does run with the ball a lot more, but Zakaria seems comfortable doing so. He had good passing range as I recall if that's the concern. He might just look slower, I'm not sure, but I didn't think N'Zonzi when he was playing - keep in mind, he used to be a striker, so he definitely has more of a nose for goal.

I do recall him playing for BMG last year and he definitely stood out. That being said, he's like 6'3", so that might be why he stood out.

He's super fast and incredibly athletic. Gueye is super quick, too, but Zakaria is a 6'3" monster. He's like Paul Pogba big and athletic, but doesn't sit back and hold the ball. He moves it.

It's tough to compete with Euro footy. I'm not sure we get Ricarlison without Euro footy if it wasn't for Silva, so good for us for leveraging that relationship and getting a comparable player.

I had hoped we would improve our transfer dealings once brands was involved but it seems we make things soooooo complicated. I bet were a nightmare to deal with lol. Time will tell for this window but I imagine Silva is getting mighty frustrated now......
