'If' we do go for Mee lets not get stung like we did for Keane. He was approaching the last year of his contract too and we paid top dollar at the time. Burnley will want big money if we ask the question. We might have to take it to the wire to get a suitable price. And thats whats worrying as we're not the best at that.

The way Burnley play, sitting deep, suits the players that they have and the way they play.

It suited Keane and look at the mess he is when he has to play higher up.

All Burnley centre halves should be swerved imo, unless your gonna play the way they do.

I'm sure he's a nice bloke, and I think he's a terrific coach for the U23s.

But I don't think he handled it brilliantly when moved up into the first team. I don't blame him, mind. But heard little bits that show he wasn't exactly the 'loveable blue' he comes across as. One particular thing was with Vlasic, and Unsy's ego definitely came to the fore with that.

If N'Diaye is on, and can be sorted out quickly, there should be enough time to sort out the issues at centre-back.

If it's a case of getting a partner for Holgate - which I'd be fine with - that player needs to be leader. Of those who have been linked this week, I'd be confident in Lascelles doing well here. People have pointed to Newcastle sitting deep, much like Burnley, but I think he's mobile enough to play a high line.

Lots of ifs.

Just needs to be binned off altogether.
Ex blues as staff everywhere, jobs for boys, will never get us anywhere

The thing I mentioned with Vlasic earlier. Basically binning him off purely because he'd been playing well for the last few weeks under Koeman. Unsy seemed to want to get rid of the Koeman influence, but that actually came at the expense of the side at times as well.

The squad are largely to blame and I do not question Unsworth's commitment at all. He clearly had the desire to make it work. But he definitely came in with a bit of a chip on his shoulder, and even had a bit of a to-do with Rooney at one point when Rooney questioned why Gylfi was used as the striker in that away game to Lyon.

Anyway, it's all done now. He's a good coach for that level.
