I’d like him here but there is no doubt he’d be short term, but look at how long Barry went on for us, and they both basically do the same thing, slow down play, keep the ball, and arse barge people off it.

He won't sign a new contract mate. It's up next year and they have an option for a further 2 years I think, but if they take up that option a buy out clause if £25m comes into play.

Spurs are renowned for not paying high wages so maybe that's the issue on the new contract, or he's just trying to get a move to a bigger club. Either way, he won't chose to come here as you probably already realise.

Spurs have obviously decided to cash in now otherwise he goes for £25m next year.

When we can't sign anyone half decent and spent £45mill on a 29 year old scared of the ball...that player is Zidane like

Short term solution is everything we don't need summed up in 3 words. All this talk about buying players who are better then what we have, quick fixes....etc is exactly why the squad is so over loaded with deadwood we can't shift

I agree but like I said poch won't play them because he can't be seen to go back on his management style where he freezes out anyone who isn't totally committed to his style of play. So if they don't sign new contracts they'll just sit there deprecating in value.

Also any type of new talent will think if I go there and fall out with the manager he'll ruin my career. Will work against him eventually.

Yep. Williams was better than Alcaraz. Keane was better than Williams. Bolassie better than Lennon. Etc. All short term solutions that give us long term problems

In the case of Dembele I don`t agree mate.

Unless Brands can pull a real rabbit out of the hat, we are going to be stuck with what we`ve got, which would be a disaster.

Dembele would help stabilise things, giving Brands time to work on a long term replacement.

I`m very very aware of the mess that Walsh and Koeman made by giving older players stupid contracts, but i don`t think Dembele would fall into this category.
