If it IS Simic it would make a lot of sense. The thing is, we need 2 CBs in. The problem is we can only afford one good one in my opinion. I think the plan is to have Holgate start at one position, then sign a CB to start at the other. That still leaves some risk because with injury Keane is the next man up, so it would be wise to take a flyer on a cheap option, which Simic should be. Hes a good combination of cheap risk due to injuries and lack of playing time, but good potential.

If thats him I dont think at all hes the main CB target, and that his signing will effect the main target one bit. I think hes just the extra CB needed and a chance we take that he can develop as Jags leaves next season.

...on this day in 1975, I started a summer holiday job in the Civil Service and retired 41 years later. It just shows, you don’t know what’s around the corner. Talking of which, here’s the Toffee transfer rumours for this Saturday morning;

- Everton have confirmed the signing of 18 year old Portugal youth international goalkeeper, Joao Virginia, from Arsenal. The club also report Left Back, Antonee Robinson agreed a new 3 year contract before joining Wigan on loan.

- According to the Liverpool Echo, Everton are poised to end their pursuit of Barcelona Centre Back, Yerry Mina, as the price being asked for the Columbian international is far too expensive.

- The Northern Echo report Everton will go all out to sign Newcastle defender Jamaal Lascelles. The Toffees are preparing a £30m bid but Newcastle want closer to £50m for the 24 year old.

- Sky Sports say Everton are considering a £3m bid for West Ham’s 19 year old defender, Reece Oxford. The youngster is back at West Ham after a period on loan at Borussia Monchengladbach.

- Sportskeeda suggest Everton are expected to complete the £3m transfer of Sporting’s 21 year old midfielder, Pedro Delgado in coming days.

- The Daily Mirror report PSG are targeting Manchester United defender, Marcos Rojo. The 28 year old Argentinian international has been interesting Everton.

- According to Stoke-on-Trent Live, Gary Rowett wants to keep hold of midfielder, Badou N’Diaye and insists he’s not part of the deal that brought Ashley Williams to Stoke.

- Italian journalist, Fabrizio Romano, took to his Twitter account to announce Fiorentina are close to signing Everton midfielder Kevin Mirallas. The deal is reported to be a £500k loan with a £7m option to buy.

- Sky Sports report Middlesborough have agreed a £15m deal with Burnley for Centre Back, Ben Gibson. Everton have been linked with the defender.

- Brazilian website UOL, say Gremio have rejected a £4m offer from an Italian side for Centre Half, Walter Kannemann and have offered the Argentinian a new contract. Everton are not mentioned as being involved.

Over to @Kinky Koeman. Up the Toffees.

If Simic, it would be a very interesting move.

Suffered a broken leg a few years ago and had some "muscle injuries" last season.

Milan made sure they extended his contract before loaning him to Crotone, a team that got relegated last season, but he only played 10 times for them in an injury hit season. He has 1 cap for the Czech National team, but has multiple caps at all groups.

The lads 23 and has played a grand total of 62 games, not a single 1 for Milan, im baffled ere.

Its prolly his son or just a mate innit, ffs.

Sounds like an injury prone player. I thought the club got enough.

Reece Oxford would be backup for Holgate, right? Which suggests we should also then be looking for a left-footer and yet Lascelles also plays on the right, unless I am missing something..
