A number 8 you say, good on the ball who knits play together.

I have just the man.

The problem is he doesn't. Ajax passing maps shows he barely touches the ball. Same when he played with us.

Now here you are trying to make up dodgy rumours abar Davy K, you are shameless Adversus, have you ever wondered why you get banned from every site you join?

Think on that bruh.
He is what he is. He arrives late and finishes of moves. He's not our new Pienaar and it doesn't matter how much you want him to be.

"You watch, when Klaassen plays from that position for Ajax, the tempo increases immediately. Moreover, he rarely loses possession.
Xavi, Toni Kroos and Davy Klaassen can do it. All three have perfect anticipation and they can play it both left and right excellently.
“You must have strong positioning, ability to control the ball at speed and also have the technique to deal with the speed of it [in midfield],"

said Cruyff in 2014.

It wasnt me saying it.

??? We need 2 centre backs, 1-2 left backs, 1 right back, 1-2 centre mids @ minimum yo

The whole squad needs a revamp.

Unless you wants jags/williams/martina/schneiderlin/bolasie starting XI next season

We have them. We should get rid of Jags/Williams etc, but we have players to replace them.....

He finishes what he usually started at Ajax. He would play deep and move the ball from defense to offense well before he'd sneak into the box. He was pretty good at it and his first touch is outstanding. I still would've never paid what we did to get him, but he'd sure as hell get a chance or at least be on the bench every game.

Davies can run with the ball pretty well, but again, he's still a kid. Best we've got though. You just can't play Siggy and Rooney together in the midfield with just Gana. They can play together, but not in the middle.

I agree. I said to control the game not a holding midfielder.

A one touch passing specialist with a fantastic shot and great deep delivery is exactly what we need plus I believe Sigurdsson has played there before.

Davies isn't good enough to run our entire midfield and besides isn't that kind of players anyway.

Although I wouldn't mind someone who could travel with the ball as well.

He has literally never played as an 8 in his entire life. You want to push him up the pitch and play the 10, of course, he's terrific there. Like how he plays for Iceland. He never has played deep though, so he's not going to be a 6 or an 8.

Who from the squad should be starting games next season?
Pickford, Coleman, Gueye, Walcott, Sigurdsson
+
Who from the squad is good enough or at least has the potential to become a valuable starter next season?
Tosun, Mori, Klaassen (think he's been handled disgracefully)
+
Who from the squad should at the very least be given a chance to stake a claim for a start?
Lookman, Vlasic, Holgate, Onyekuru, Niasse
+
Who clearly won't / shouldn't be a starter but is useful backup?
Kenny, Baines, Keane, Davies, Beningime, DCL, Rooney (purely on account of the fact he won't be sold)
= keeping 20 players

Who needs binning off asap?
Williams, Jagielka, Mirallas, Schneiderlin, Bolasie, Sandro, Browning, Tarashaj, Galloway, Garbutt, Martina, Pennington, Besic, Stekelenburg, McCarthy, probably also Dowell
= 16 players gone

I make that only 5 players who stand out from our entire squad, plus three I count as having potential to break into the starting XI, and a handful of players who imo deserve the chance to show they have what it takes to be be in and around the starting XI.

I say we need at four starters in the summer: A left winger, a central midfielder, a left back, a centre back.

That's a squad size of 24 and only four brand new faces. Can't be too hard can it?
