Yes, definitely. Creative CM should be our priority.
In my humble opinion the new CM should be tall strong athletic and able to carry the ball at speed from defende to attack
I think the go to term nowadays is in transition.
Too many times this season we have no outlet for the defence to play the ball to and it just keeps coming back into our box.
Barkley for all his decision making flaws was good st this

We need someone that can take the ball and dictate play more imo, someone that can pass it about, not had someone that could do that for donkeys years.

Ideally we'd get both, a powerful box to box alongside a ball player, cba with donkeys in there who all they do is run around loads

I hope the idio#s running this years transfer window arent the same that were involved in the last couple. In any other job they would be laughed at as the idi#ts who think they know everything , always have excuses but are utter dribble at their job.

So hopefully the following will occur this season. Cull the average players out of the squad. Cut
the average age of the squad.Off to a bad start with matthew signing a 3 year deal. Ps he will never be a first team player) . Sign a athletic quick center half. Sign a starting young left back. Sign a forward thinking center midfield player who is brave enough to pass the ball forward. Sign a 15 goal a season quick forward to help tosun.

We need pace and movement in this dull slow team.

*walsh proceeds to do the opposite to all above. Buys another 32 yr old center half...etc. 2018/19 is worse than this season.

It makes more sense when you break it down. Let’s assume no new signings next summer; hypothetically it could look like this:

1st choice: RFM
1st choice: Keane
Reserve: Holgate
Reserve: Jags
Reserve: Williams

Now that above absolutely rinses us in wages. So why not keep a player we already own (Penno) costing us nothing, thus allowing us to bin off the expensive players we’ll hopefully never see:

1st choice: RFM
1st choice: Keane
Reserve: Holgate
Reserve: Penno
Reserve: ??????

It’s saving us a lot of wages and saving us from going out and spending £££ on a back-up CB.

That’s how I see it anyway.

I think it will be;

1st Choice: New Player
1st Choice: Holgate
Reserve: Mori
Reserve: Keane
Reserve: Pennington

Silva favourite formation is 4-2-3-1, so I guess our lineup could look something like this:

If we can find decent players for missing spots, we're looking at a good team here I think.

If Silva, Fonseca or any other managers come in who prefer passing out from the back then Holgate has to start...

I would imagine it would be;

New Forward

Walcott -- Sigurdsson -- New Winger

New Centre Midfielder -- Gana

New Left Back -- New Centre Back -- Holgate -- Coleman

Pickford

Forward -- Other than Tosun and DCL we have Niasse who I think will be sold. We need a first choice.

Attacking midfielders -- A new left winger is needed and Lookman, Vlasic and Dowell as competition.

Centre Midfield -- Gana and Baningime for one position and Davies and a star for the other.

Defence -- We need a new left side.

5 starters needed.

He seems to have been around for ages seemed everyone was after him a few seasons ago
Think it was right after the Euros when he was last in the window at least for Everton.

Not sure how/who would be recruiting him here though given we’re expecting a new manager and DOF. In a scary way, I can see Sam liking him. Defense first midfielder...

Also with us linked heavily with a couple of Portuguese managers they would have a fair bit of knowledge about the player

I honestly still think Baines has another season in him. I would also give Coleman the armband. 2 new centre-halves, sell Williams and release Jags. Have Keane and Funes Mori as back up. We do need another left back though, just for cover at least, maybe Luke Shaw would dethrone Baines, but also the right back position needs some decent cover, I just don't rate Martina at all.

As for midfield, I would honestly keep Klaassan, if we get rid of big sam, another manager may give him the chance he deserves. The obvious one would be schneiderlin, he needs to go. We need a playmaker, and even a new number 10, I just don't rate Sigurdsson at all, sorry.

Excited about Lookman's development along with Calvert Lewin, and also Walcott and Tosun look like great buys.

We need 4 defenders, 2 midfielders and a striker, not to mention a backup goalkeeper.

Just who do we buy? I haven't got a clue, but we need real quality if we're even to finish in the top 8 again next season. I feel its sink or swim time for Everton this summer. Will Moshiri put his money where his mouth is? Stay tuned folks.
