First we have to know who will be spending the money.
This simply can't be stated strongly enough.

Ever since we've come into money, we've spent very poorly (on the whole).

£25m for Bolasie?
£25m for Klaassen?
£45m for Sigurdsson?
Schneiderlin at the time looked a good purchase at a decent price, but time has proved this not to be the case.

Tosun? Too early to say.
Vlasic? Too early to say.
Keane... the jury is still out.
Lookman has shown promise.
Pickford seems a good purchase.
Gana was value for money.
Sandro was cheap - even if he doesn't work out we can get our money back

Our recruitment team needs a shake-up.

I think Moshiri is rapidly reaching the same conclusion, hence why it`s looking increasingly likely that gravy train Steve, will be on his way.

I know and by playing players like Naisse we will never reach top 6
Without Niasse we'd be bottom 3 this season, like.

There's 15 odd players who need replacing before getting rid of a player like Niasse right now. Will work hard for the squad even if not playing every week, and if we get europe again we'll need a goalscorer like him in the rotation.

I think with our left back issues we should take a look at Marvin Plattenhardt at Hertha Berlin. Seen a fair bit of him via BT Sport over the last few seasons and looks decent to my untrained eye. 26 years old and just broke into the German national team but can't see him costing a fortune.

Any German Blues with anymore info on this kid?

There is so much risk in buying players with huge price tags, which is why free transfers or players with low release causes still very much appeal, even if they are on huge wages.

I'd take Jack Wilshere if he doesn't agree a deal with Arsenal, even though he is injury prone and would demand high wages. He's exactly what our midfield needs.

I'd take Fellaini on a free as well, and I think that we should snap up Jonny Evans if it's true that he has got a 3 million pound release clause in the event that West Brom go down.

I think I would start Tosun.

With those 3 in midfield we should be able to control possession better and that would allow us to get the best from Tosun.

My problem with DCL is that he just doesn't score enough.
DCL is our 3 highest scorer in the league this year. If anything hes suprised me with his goals return, i think hes done fine. 10-15 each year is fine for him and the way he plays. Its the 20+ man we need to find.

But in order for DCL to get there he had to play more minutes than any other player in the entire league up until that point. His production per minute is very poor. Im not knocking his future, but hes just not there yet as should be expected.

He has scored 4 in 16 app, 10 starts in the league.

That's not good enough really.

But he is still young. I just don't think he's the answer for now.

The issue I have with Oumar is that he's on semi-high wages (like 55K a week) and we could get something for him.

That being said, if we can move out some of our higher paid guys that give us very little, it would make it A LOT easier to get those 2-3 higher end guys that can actually make a difference for us.

By some accounts, Morgan's on like 120K, Baines and Ashley Williams are on 70K, Klaassen at least that much, Jags / McCarthy are on 50K, even Martina, Stek, Garbutt are on like 35K, and heaven knows what Sandro is on. We could dump that entire crowd and we'd never know the difference. That's like 500K a week in salary.

Agreed. But man, he's got size and speed, he's got some vision and intelligence. Just needs to get stronger and work on his finishing. He's absolutely the perfect loan candidate, honestly. He can help of course, but man, it would be nice to have a couple decent first teammers and allow him to get regular first team time somewhere.

It's hard for any striker in this team which is why it's almost counter productive to play in this team.

He needs to play for a free scoring team where he will score a lot of goals even if he misses a few. Scoring for strikers is like muscle memory. The more they do it the easier it is.

Good prospect but at the moment nothing more. I agree he should go on loan.
