Was it only last season Man City were looking at him for 30m. Why are they not interested now at a fraction of the cost ?

I recall reading that they weren’t happy that his agent apparently wanted something like £5m for himself as part of the deal. He’d still be good value but something about it upset them.

Edit/ and if true it’s not quite the £3m “bargain” that it initially sounds like.

Don't think I've ever seen him play but has been a constant performer for England youths up until u 20's

If Leicester has a decent manager they’d be a threat (again). Maguire and Evans is a strong back line. Gray Vardy Iheanacho Ndidi they have some good quality throughout the squad.

Definite bargain.

He’ll probably be picking up £80k+/wk though (along with a hefty signing on fee and likely a few million for his agent) and is in his 30’s now. We need to decide on a transfer policy and he might be older than what we’ll be going for.

Cheap but there will be add ons. He is old. Just got relegated. We want better.

Jonny Evans joining Leicester for 3m. Would comfortably be our best CB if we got him. Huge miss, especially when it appears we'll take a punt on a very expensive CB instead. Evans would have been a great signing, of course alongside another new CB.

Would`ve been a typical Walsh signing - hitting 30, no re sale value and 100k a week.

We`ve got more than enough of them to shift, without adding another to the list.

An excellent introduction to this Summers Weasel Index as always Orly Frandel.

The signs are already promising for a very productive season of Weasel breeding.

A new manager / DOF, who will want to implement their own style of play, which will mean some ins and lots of outs and as such will provide perfect Weasel breeding conditions.

Have you thought about maybe introducing preventive measures, just in case the Weasel population reaches unsustainable levels ?
