Am I alone in embracing a summer where we moan about sell to buy and worrying about everyone else buying players in the expectation we’ll then rock up and outperform everyone? I was far more worried about us crowing about our business last summer and not very surprised when we turned out to be [Poor language removed]. Methodical, planned squad building is far more effective than spending like a drunk sailor on shore leave.

More the wages they will be on.

Who is going to match the likes of Williams wages of 75k per week?
You really just have to hope he has an ounce of ambition left in his career, but really... at his age, knows he doesn't have another World Cup shot ahead of him, won't play European football again, sat on his fat arse on 80k a week, he'll probably force us to pay him off. It's his right, but it's sad when he's got millions of pounds in the bank and has secured a luxury lifestyle for his family for generations to come.

Same as Jagielka, Schneiderlin, Bolasie, Mirallas, Klaassen, etc.

I am sure most of them could take a 30% pay cut to join a decent Premier League side and be assured of games every week. But their agents won't allow such a drop in wages, so we'll either be left to top them up when they left or keep them on our books.

...it’s Friday 8th June and with two months of the window left, here’s this morning’s round-up of transfer rumours;

- Congolese outlet, Foot, suggest Everton winger Yannick Bolasie could be leaving Goodison for Newcastle United. Given that Foot also claim Everton signed Bolasie for £12.3m, the accuracy of the article has to be taken with a pinch of salt.

- SporX in Turkey re-iterate claims from Davy Klaassen that the midfielder wants to remain at Everton; they quote the player as saying “I can’t wait to start the new season in Everton”.

- MundoDeportivo again links Everton with a move for Real Sociedad striker, Willian Jose. The player is reported to have a £52.6m release clause in his contract.

- According to 4th Official, Everton and Liverpool will battle it out for the signature of Stoke’s Swiss international winger, Xherdan Shaqiri.

- ReadEverton website pick up on reports in Italy suggesting Everton and Watford are interested in Bologna left back, Adam Masina. The 24 year old is a former Italian under-21 international and started 33 games for the Seria A side last season.

- Estadio Deportivo report Sevilla have cooled their interest in Everton striker, Sandro Ramírez. Sandro spent the 2nd half of last season on loan at the Andulesian club but failed to score in 18 appearances. Indeed, the 22 year old scored one goal in a total of 31 games last season.

- Spanish outlet, Marca, continues to link Everton with Sporting Lisbon Forward, Das Bost. However, the Toffees face competition from Newcastle and Sevilla who are also thought to be interested.

- SportsLens website claim Spurs are interested in signing £30m rated centre back, Jamaal Lascelles, from Newcastle. Everton and Chelsea are also reported to be keen on the player.

- FootMercarto say Everton and Newcastle are interested in Middlesborough youngster, Bilal Brahimi. Brahimi hails from France and the winger scored 8 goals with 14 assists in 25 games for Boro’s youth teams.

- Plymouth Argyle’s Official website has confirmed the signing of 23 year old Everton midfielder, Conor Grant.

I’ll be catching a flight at 06.15am so won’t be doing a summary tomorrow. I’m on holiday for a week, but will endeavour to post something each morning even if it’s a little later than usual.

A bit selfish but hey, great updates, have a good holiday, I hope you get laid or is it layed ....;)

West Ham done a good bit of business getting Fredericks on a free and now linked with the likes of Pastore and Felipe Anderson while we are busy trying to shift deadwood to free up some cash to get players in.
Blame Koeman and Walsh.
They allowed the squad to end up this way. I guess it's only right we try to clear the decks before we make signings, otherwise we run the risk of having a 45 man squad and that'd kill us.

Haven’t heard of any interest in our players as yet.

Not expecting bidding wars, but something would be nice.

I’d take a Tribalfootball understands Monaco are set to pounce on Mirallas right now.

I’m not concerning myself with West Ham, I hope they do get Pastore. He’s too slow for the Prem and past it, hopefully he rinses them with his wages on a long contract.
