Summer 2018 Transfer Window

We should be asking for at least £15m for Bolasie, I only really want him sold if we're looking at bringing in two wingers.

The same really goes to schneiderlin, was thinking last night if he goes, besic will almost certainly be sold as well if he didn't pull up any trees in the championship. Rooney seems like he's off and well I wouldn't play Klaassen that far back either. There's been links to Mccarthy going which I would have been all for until I realised our midfield options for the two centre mid spots would be :

Gueye, Davies and Mccarthy (baningime also possibly).

I mean that's really weak for me if we just add carvalho, we'd need to add another.

We're not going to be buying two centre minds, a centre back (wish it was two), a left back, two wingers and maybe a striker in a squad trimming window.

Ideally we will eventually do all of the above, but over two years.

When you look at rooney's wages, schneiderlin's possible transfer fee, Mccarthy's possible transfer fee and injury record and besic not being good enough, do we really want to keep any of them? We'll have to keep one.

With your transfer strategy we'll have an even bigger squad than we started with!

This is an interesting post.

For Bolasie, dont forget his fee would be amortised over the length of his contract.

This would be about £4.6mil a season so weve lost £9.2 mil of his transer fee already on the books at least. Meaning anything over £13.8mil this year is book profit.

Playing 433 for the 2 wide positions we would have: Bolasie/Mirallas/Lookman/Walcott/Vlasic/Dowell/Onyekuru.

Logically the only 2 capable of playing a fast counter attacking system would be Lookman and Walcott so, as you rightly stated, we need 2 more wide players unless one of Onyekuru/Vlasic/Dowell gets a slot in the squad for that position...i believe we really could just sign Lozano and be fine numbers wise.

In the centre we have Schneiderlin/McCarthy/Klaassen/Gana/Baningime/Davies/J.Williams/Sigurdsson/Dowell/Vlasic/Connolly.

I think for the attacking position in the 3 Sigurdsson/Vlasic/Dowell can all fit in there as well as Lookman if its a truly advanced position.

For the 2 other positions one player needs to sit and the other box to box -- they can alternate of course.

Sigurdsson may be moved back into the centre, id actually prefer him in a box to box role as he has the stamina.

Gana isnt a door opener so would be fine to keep but most likely sold after a season or coming off the bench if extra protection is needed.

Baningime seems to be a better passer than Gana but we need to see more of him.

Davies has perhaps played too much and suffered but will stay in the squad.

J.Williams/Connolly may be judged in preseason.

We need to sign 2 players who are both capable of sitting or playing box to box...high energy and able to pick a pass + tackle as well as having a good engine.

What is the current situation regarding his work permit?

Are we likely to be seeing him at Goodison this season, or are we still looking to loan him abroad again?

Yeah I seen that but my problem with it is it goal.com. in it they don't even get the details of the lukaku transfer right. There are no quotes or mentions of any sauce to where they got this information from and they are the only website I can find who are reporting it.

Where as sky, BBC and other reputable reporters said it's simply £27 million pounds. I hope your right and that's the deal we've got but after two years of Walsh just seeming to pay whatever someone asked for I can't see it being the case.

Was about £18mil when converted to pounds.

I think the total fee will probably include adds on too.

Ps - We didn`t have to pay it did we ?

I hope you are right I've just seen no actual proof that that is the case. My problem is it's indicative of Walsh transfer policy of just pay the club whatever they asked for. I just find it hard to believe that after splurging money left, right and center. That he would get such a good deal for tosun, from a Turkish club who are always difficult to deal with.

He doubled the Turkish transfer record, so not that hot negotiating
