I wouldn't be too arsed if we started the season with Baines still there as our starting LB with Robinson for backup. Think that potentially has legs for at least one more season.
For me we absolutely need to prioritise three positions in the transfer market - one top quality CB, one top quality CM & another striker.
Trim the fat in the squad, get all of the youngsters back in for pre-season, identify & acquire the right players in the three positions I mentioned and we're already off to a flier imo.
I want us to avoid a complete overhaul in the first summer if possible. If Silva is as good at improving players as people say he is, then let him prove it.

Nope, Baines is shot and Robinson is completely unproven at a decent level. Absolute priority we get a new starting left back and has been for a couple of seasons now

As usual its somewhere between the two. We are likely looking for a new LB, CM, RM and CF but we might not get all of them and so we need serviceable options until we do. Like i dont think we’ll sell schniedenfraud before we get a Carvalho deal agreed...

Exactly. Robinson may well turn out very good. But to take the risk in him and a very quickly ageing Baines would be insane.
But it is Everton so wouldn’t shock me to see it happen.

I love him but I don't think Bainesy can make it through a full season any more at consistently top performance level. Robinson has potential but totally unproven. We need a left back.

Recall the Tosun goal when he thread a pass into feet high up the pitch.
I do think against the best teams in the league he’s vulnerable but as back up would be fine. Just got to weigh up the wage situation with him. Any replacement back up would take a wage plus a fee so keeping him for one season may happen. He’s not what he was but still able to chip in unlike Mirallas and so many others.

I think, I agree mate. And Silvas comments tend to lean to your thoughts. Though, a CF is completely unnecessary. We need another wide player (left side).

Keeping a 33 year old Baines as starting LB is the same sentiment that has held us back all of these years. There are many examples of players waaay past their primes that we have kept (rooney being the most recent example). Baines has always been one of my favourite players but its obvious he is not at the level we need him to be at this stage in his career. Give me prime baines all day but he'll be turning 34(!!) this year.
