Hope that creative player isn’t a 21 year old kid from Norwich.

Well we have Gylfi.

Maddison - even though I do think I'd rather see Dowell given a go in that role as well - can slot easily into the left side of that three and provides real pace and drive, similar to how Barkley did in his first season.

I'd be surprised if Besic has a future with us - I can barely remember a meaningful performance from him for us.

He's had a few quite big displays mate

After a bad injury in the second half of 2014/15 (early part of 2015/16) he came back in just after Christmas in Martinez's first season and completely changed the game against Spurs at home.

Then he was brilliant in the semi-final first leg against City. Completely nullified Toure and ran the show for us.

I believe he got injured again the next game but that's an example of how good he could be on his day, but they were few and far between due to his injuries.

Fresh start will do him good.

Snides ended the season well to be fair. Playing for a move perhaps, but he’s clearly got it in him.

He was ace after signing for us and even at the start of last season looked fine.

He couldn't hit his stride in a struggling team and then when Koeman went, he seemed to down tools.

Played really well against Chelsea at home in that 0-0, though, and yeh he finally looked to be putting some effort in late in the season.

If Silva likes him and can get a tune out of him we've still got a player there. He's 28, good on the ball and decent in the tackle. But the risk is always if he doesn't look arsed then what do we do?

I would rather sell him because I think he's a player we could get £20million for, either from a Premier League club or abroad (he wants Marseille), and I think there's better players out there that we can realistically get.

But as I keep saying, it's down to priorities, and Silva may not see defensive midfield as a priority. He may think he can get a tune out of Schneiderlin and as such put that £25m fee into buying a creative player to play in that three.

Pace and drive are not words that should be mentioned in regards to Dowell!...he has neither...he is to all intents and purposes an English Bilyaletdinov

Sky Sports believe Everton, Arsenal and West Ham interested in Mario Gotze

....this is what’s being written about the Toffees transfer dealings on this Thursday morning;

- According to The Northern Echo, Mo Besic is happy to listen to any offer from Middlesborough but first wants to know if Marco Silva feels he has a future at Everton.

- The Daily Mirror report Marco Silva has identified the players he wants to work with at Everton and has a list of players for Marcel Brands to offload. The article suggests he’s unsure about Morgan Schneiderlin and wants to hold talks about comments the player has made that he wants a move away from the Premier League and a return to France. Among the players Silva has no interest in are Davy Klaassen, Kevin Mirallas and Ashley Williams.

- The Mirror also report West Ham face competition from Everton for the signature of Toulouse Centre Back, Issa Diop. The Hammers are reported to have had a bid rejected by Toulouse yesterday and Marco Silva is keen to snap up the 21 year old.

- Turkish news outlet, Milliyet, say Fenerbahce and Everton are in negotiations over a loan deal for winger Yannick Bolasie. Fenerbahce Sporting Director, Damien Comolli, has presented a financial package that the Blues have accepted.

- The Leicester Mercury report Everton are interested in signing Bayer Leverkusen Centre Back, Aleksander Dragovic. The player spent last season on loan at Leicester where he failed to win a regular spot. The Foxes have an option to buy but are said to be stalling over a permanent move.

- MirrorSport suggest striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin will snub any approach from AFC Bournemouth to fight for his place at Everton.

- KickOff website reckon Everton Manager, Marco Silva, is plotting a stunning move for Celta Vigo forward, Iago Aspas. The Spanish international is no stranger to Merseyside, having spent an unsuccessful period at Liverpool.

Well, if we get a worse set of rumours than this again, I'll be surprised.
