Summer transfer speculative hopes and dreams

Would love us to try and get Tadic. The sexy Serb. Would cost £20mil like and won't be in any rush to leave Southampton.

José Callejon could be an option? Wants to leave Napoli by all accounts. Would cost a fair sum - probably £12mil and big wages, but can play on either wing or behind the striker. Probably more of a Mirallas than a Pienaar type player, though I think he actually excels been the main creative force in a team.

4-3-3

LW -- Pienaar
RW -- Deulofeu

Mirallas possibly off and McGeady useless.

So a first choice LW and a backup RW.
Then that begs the question, why do we have three specialist DMs now (Barry/Besic /McCarthy) and a bunch of other central midfielders, if we're going to switch to a formation that only uses one, but uses a wealth of wingers we don't have?

Next two key signings are keeper and playmaker...

Keepers price ranges from £8mil Begovic up to £15mil+ (Oblak is class and went for £12.6)...

Playmakers likely around £20mil.

We don't play a 4-3-3 though? And Osman only ever plays left so you might as well count him if you're going to count Piennar.

At this moment in time we have 4 wingers:
- Del
- McGeady
- Mirallas
- Pienaar

And 2 players who can play wide left:
- Cleverley
- Osman

Don't think we'll be signing a keeper this summer unfortunately.

I'd imagine our 'INS' this window from now will be:
- Centre half
- Playmaker (probably someone to play wide left for the time being until Barkley shifts deeper/is sold/turns tosh)
- Winger (IF McGeady or Mirallas leave)

Besic i think will phase out Barry and Barry will be off in Jan. Others' contracts are up also...like Osman/Gibson next season. The central midfielders we have can each play a variety of positions but loosely;

DM - Besic / McCarthy
CM - McCarthy / Barkley / Cleverley
AM - Cleverley /Barkley

And we are signing a playmaker...

A 'loose' 4-3-3...

The only players we have who can play wide to a good standard are Mirallas and Deulofeu (Pienaar for one more year.

Osman / Naismith / Cleverley its not their natural position.

I think we need 2 options for each position unless some can double up to a high level...

If Mirallas and McGeady stay we don't need another winger. That includes Lennon.
CB, AM and a striker are required. Either as permanent signings or loans.
As a necessity.

I'm leaning to this:

McGeady / Mirallas off maybe one more such as Naismith/Gibson/Barry...

£15mil now and £30-35mil after above 2/3 players moved on...

Free- £10mil on a backup centre back.

£20-25mil on a LW/AM

Martinez seeing whats happening with Mirallas and going for back up CB first then seeing whats left in the pot after sales for the major signing.

Do you think McGeady and Mirallas will stay?

McGeady was dropped for ages in 2015 when apparently fit and Mirallas wanted to go in Jan....

Think theyre both off myself.

Then we look for one more winger. But I don't believe they are both off. Only Mirallas if he wants to leave. And Lennon is not a Mirallas replacement. We don't need him any longer.
CB, AM and striker are necessity priorities right now.

The squad is to big, El Fraudos main focus now will be shipping some players out.

Can't see us spending £20-25m on one player mate, Martinez has said we can't afford to blow that amount on one player again the way we did with Lukaku. Max we'll spend on one player in this window is £15m imo.

I mentioned him along with the 2 ajax wingers as potential options on the left but not sure we have been linked with him in press?

Hes come through one major injury and seems over it and so his price would now probably be at the lowest...

But is he good enough yet?

Yes. Is he good enough, that is the question, but he is playing tonight, in the U21 - quarterfinal against sweden, so there we might get the answer.
However, like you say, it might be a good time to invest in him, as he is returning from a long injury break, but played very well against U21 - Serbia, this wedensday.
Bouth Eriksen and Fisher, are very swift, and have great ball control.
He might have to take the role as a sub, as he might not be 100%, at the time PL sets of.
Interesting player never the less!
