Summer transfer speculative hopes and dreams

There's no indication at all Martinez has any intention of showing the old guard the door. In fact the complete opposite. He knows that you need to faze those players out over a few seasons not replace them entirely.

Plus all those players can do a job if needed. I wouldn't want to rely on them for any amount of time but if one or two come into the team at a time then there's no issue.

I think our first team is better than what people think. We weren't great last season but the younger players are now a year older and Cleverly and Deulofeu are very good additions. Someone like Shaqiri and a good premier league defender like Dann along with no European football with give us an outside chance of the top 4. With the exception of Chelsea and Arsenal all teams in the league have their weaknesses although the window hasn't even opened nevermind closed so who knows what all the teams will look like.
Except that the other teams that are chasing top 4 have about 1000000x more money than we do and are 1000000x more attractive options to go to rather than us :/

It doesn't make a difference if the players however don't go there or aren't made available. So far who have Liverpool, Arsenal, City, Spurs or Utd signed this window that has you worried?

The most important of them all is a 33 year old goal keeper.

We might lose Kev however Utd might lose De Gea, Arsenal might lose Wilshire/Ox/Walcott, City might lose Toure/Milner, Liverpool might lose Sterling/Gerard.

We'll see where the teams are at the end of the window but presently we're 2 signings away from having a very decent side and while those teams would certainly be favorites for 4th before us I still think we are closer now than we have been in years.

Just cant see us getting shaqiri even if we have enquired.
I can picture the rs, spurs or even west ham swooping in of he comes availible offering abit more money and getting him just to stop is strengthening. Similar to what chelsea did with salah

If we have enquired to both Basel & Bayern regarding character , then this could be number 10 we're looking for. Can play anywhere left right centre. Rom is going to smash 30+ next season and I cannot wait :)

Why not just play a complete team of attackers as a lot of you don't understand the concept of balance at all.

I think we all do, we just believe that for the last 12 years there's been a complete imbalance and we've been far too negative, last year just highlighted this again.

I'd like us to have a proper go at it and bar maybe the top 5 away from home, if we're going to drop points lets do so by attacking teams.

If their is truth in this story it would be nice if we can rush through the signing of fear of him getting snatched from somewere else. Then we can sit back go abroad and start pre season with all our signings bar a centre back. Then all we have to do is worry about the papers selling all our players

Its worrying that our main threat appears to be Stoke

McCarthy is a holding midfielder and Ross is more naturally suited to being a box to box midfielder although there is an argument for playing Barkley and Besic together.

We played that formation against QPR and England played Barkley in midfield in the world cup. Most of us think that's his best position and one of the reasons for getting a new No10 is so as we can move Barkley back.

He needs to play which is one of the reasons he left Bayern and the RS and Spurs have too much competition. I think we have a decent chance.
