That's the thing, people say money talks and to an extent it does but people who say CL football isn't everything for the best players are kidding themselves! And Liverpool look to have both. And look at Liverpool, last season they were in same boat as us, they had the Europa league and were no way offering £50m plus and £200K a week wages to players like they are now that their in the CL! They were signing cheap German GK's, a Pair of crap CB's from the Bundesliga and signing the best players from clubs lower down in the league that the top clubs didn't want or want to take a chance on (Wijnaldum & Mane)!

And that's what we're gonna have to do to try and put together a good, competitive team, go for players like Pickford, Keane & Sigurdsson for example, players that are the best at their clubs and would improve us but the top teams aren't certain of and take a miss on them.

And hopefully we can find some gems on the continent that we can bring in and unearth?! But that's how we're gonna have to approach the market this summer to hopefully try and bridge the gap, although with the way the teams above are spending already, it's gonna be tough!....

Uh-oh. This post is entirely too logical for us.....

No mate, I agree with you completely. Our realistic goal has to be to solidify our team so that Europa league is a constant, not a question - and then be able to perform in that competition. That may not involve the flashy players we all would love to see, but if we can get in quality players (or even better quality players from teams below us to both strengthen us and weaken them) then we can not only become a fixture in Europe but consistently make a run at a cup or even the Europa. That will open the door for a shot at CL, but it realistically is not going to happen overnight.

Some may turn their nose up at the Pickford, Keane, Sigurdsson types, but they are who we can and should be signing right now. Couple those players with some promising younger players and maybe a player or two on a CL side that is not getting time on the pitch and we will improve.

Agree he should just be there to do social events award ceremonies etc...he shouldn't be active with transfers etc...
