Seems Carlos Jacomuzzi knows Steve Walsh via both having worked for Chelsea at around the same time in 2005-2007-ish and so we have that Serie A connection.

The main focus is likely Bacca and Deulofeu discussions. The other players linked seem to be general talk by Jacomuzzi on the radio, and just confirming we tentatively enquired about Merten's situation in the recent past.

Bacca has a €30m buyout according to Wikipedia but I doubt he'd cost that much.

FML

5m euros tops, and even then I would be displeased

He could be more useful to us next season than Deulofeu will be, so they might be exploring options regarding those two switching clubs and what the figures would be. Doubt there's many European (if any) clubs that will pay €15m for Bacca.

Would be very happy with Bacca although I would be hoping he's more of a wide player in a 4-3-3 as I do think it's going to be very risky losing Roms 25 goals and replacing him with strikers from abroad who may or may not flop. Signing an established forward with PL experience is a necessity imo.

Would be happy with something like:

Sandro Benteke Bacca

Although I think Koeman will go for a more creative Wideman like Pienaar in his prime on that left hand side like Tadic.
Bloody hope so... Really missed us being more creative on the left

Could take him or leave him, but I wouldn't say he's not at the required standard.

Fan opinions are difficult to measure I think, so I wouldn't read too much into that. For every Everton fan who tells you Lukaku is the best striker we've had in 30 years, there'll be another who says he's a lazy flat track bully who's not fit to lace Stracqualursi's boots. For all the positive retweets etc from Sunderland fans about Pickford yesterday, there were more than a few (including a mate of mine) who say that he's got it all on to prove himself. Different strokes for different folks.

I guess this is about levels. We aren't going to replace Lukaku with a player as good as him, but I think we should be looking for players who are really good at something - a very fast striker, a target man who's good in the air and with his back to goal, a clever striker who can create for others, etc etc

I look at Bacca and I don't see anything he really brings to the side. Just average at a lot of things

I'll get off my soapbox now

I expect that there are agents working different countries that Everton have contacts with and the club can ask them to assist in buying or selling players in their country.
I expect they are paid a fee or commission depending on the outcome.
If Walsh or Koeman had a positive experience in previous dealings they may well go back to these people for assistance.

In this manner we could have almost anybody working on our behalf for a particular target or type of player or once off transaction without being a regular on the payroll.

Want me to make a similar video of our £100m striker?

Because it wouldn't be that hard.

That's so last week Ij

I could make you a video (if I knew how) of some really good goals Rom has scored though and examples of his raw power, pace and boss slotting ability

I'd be interested if someone could make a video of Bacca's strengths and what he brings to the team. Not even taking the pee there

Bacca's not happening. He may be plan E but otherwise it doesn't make sense in the context of everything else we appear to be doing. It's not even an Ashley Williams type move.

He couldn't play out wide to save his life. He's a great finisher, but that's it. He can't dribble, hold up the ball or pass very well.

Can't say I know much about him tbh although Koeman typically goes for a big lad up top to hold the ball up ala Pelle/Austin. Maybe it's just paper talk personally In terms of "realistic" signings I wouldn't want any forward player from the Italian sides other than Icardi and Perisic.
