The Italian club need to raise around €30m by June 30th or they’ll fail to comply with their FFP agreement, which would likely lead to further sanctions.
Gazzetta suggested, and that’s all it was, that Everton had offered €18m for Brozovic, something knocked back by Inter, who are looking for €20-25m.
The Gazzetta claims were then covered by Croatia’s Jutarnji List, who published an article about the Brozovic to Everton claims, but made it very clear it was all based on reports in the ‘international media’.
So that’s that then.
Wrong, then followed a procession of English, Italian, and Dutch language websites, publishing articles saying Jutarnji had made the claim. Presenting it as ‘claims from Croatia’.
To be clear, this is all from the original Gazzetta report. There’s no new slant here. It’s just been dragged through the mill and rumour-laundered.
