Pickford is class, mark my words. I think his only 'weakness' (and I'm no keeper expert) is that hes not commanding the box like Schmeichel/Southall....still just 23 though.

Butland has only had that one bad injury hasn't he? If he gets games before the end of the season and proves hes back to 'normal' then id be happy with either.

I hasten to add that I think he's decent like, but I'm not as in to him as others seem to be

Butlands a much better keeper imo, strangely its harder to look good at a mid table side than one rock bottom.

If you mean Keane, yes.

He's ready to step up, looks to have all the attributes you'd want, incredibly good in the air given he isn't the tallest (6ft 2ish)

He's quick enough and passes the ball pretty well. I'd be delighted to have him here and I think we would be a good fit for him now as well.

I'm not saying he isn't any good, I just don't think he's significantly better than what we have, and if we're going to spend a decent wedge on a new keeper then he has to be a major step up from Joel. Pickford isn't that IMO

Van Dijk was better than our existing defenders and the one we signed instead of him. It's not even remotely the same

Heaton is the form keeper this season anyway and has done far better than Pickford IMO

I've not seen much of pickford, but going off reports I've read. He's been very good apparently in Sunderland's last 4 or 5 games.

He's still young and had a bad injury early on this season. I hope we are in for him, as I think we will regret it if we don't. If we lose out to city or Utd then so be it.
