Summer Transfer Window 2017

The lad is 19. He isn't utter garbo and isn't a steaming pile either. He scored 23 goals in the championship last season for a team nearly relegated. And I'll say again. He is 19. With fans like ours I hope we don't get him.

Kane looked utterly useless at this stage and wasn't half as effective on loan.

A desire to keep improving is as important and to never lose that hunger. He may be a player that blossoms but without being given a chance no one will know. Kane came to the fore playing Europa matches.

I hope we can find a 1st teamer in this way in the coming season.

Competing against teams spending the exact same amount yh? Melt

Spending more. By the end of the Window our net spend will be small compared to most of the big hitters. However, i have no issue with that as if we recruit well we could end up in a stronger position.

I think the early signs are encouraging that we are getting business done before cashing in on Rom and Ross. I also expect Jimmy Mac and Naisse to go

How do you build into your thesis surrounding our performance the fact the clubs around us are also paying big cash? I could maybe understand if we were the only club spending but I bet our spend is still less than at least five of the top six. Therefore I would be interested in finding out how you can gauge progress without taking into account our rivals spending, considering you consider the nature of increased spending definitely means better league position.

Don't start talking about spend and net spend ffs... you'l set him off again

That's why I've been banging in about net spend mate. It's a measurable index.

Think it's difficult to put a league position as a target as we can't control what other teams do apart from when we play them. I gave him a 60 point target this season which was achieved. If it wasn't for the bad run in Oct/Nov we could have hit 70 easily. Taking that into account and with the supposed improvement in personnel I would expect 75 points minimum next season. If that gets us 3rd or 6th is irrelevant.
That's a fair assessment and one that fits easily with my own expectations.
