Summer Transfer Window 2017

Still waiting on that one big statement signing
The signing that makes other fans go
How in the hell did they manage to sign him
A Pierre from Dortmund
A Koubailly or a VVD
Fabregas Mata or a player like that
Someone to make me go
You flipping beaut you
You know the type
The player that makes the pundits and fans go
FFS this Everton shower mean business this season
And while I welcome Rooney back he's not the one.

Unlikely to get that this window, better chances of seeing that next summer

We went for statement signings all last summer and looked stupid, this year we've realised that and gone for the best of the rest in the hope of building reputation.

I'm happy with all business done so far, need a striker and some cover in places (free transfers etc) but all in all happy. If Barkley leaves though then we will need someone in his position and I'm not sure Gylfi is that person.

It's our best window in history if we get Siguurdson, Giroud (or another suitable striker in that mould), and another centre half.
Can't see that happening, but it will still be our best window.

It was only 4 years ago Barry and McCarthy were sat in their SUV's at the top of Finch Lane waiting for the Fellaini deal to go through on August 31st.

I don't see why we can't get those 3 deals done. Siguurdson sounds like it has potential, I'd be surprised if Koeman doesn't want another left footed defender, and I'd be utterly gobsmacked if he doesn't sign a no.9.

If may happen and Sigurdsson probably will, but as things stand we have improved our starting xi by 5. We've never done that.

I know but I can hope for the next 7 weeks.
When you see James go on loan you start to wonder

I'm generally in favor of unsecured hope and extreme optimism, but let's not take for granted the successes of this window:

Moved on Lukaku, who wanted to leave, for a reasonable fee
Moved on several unwanted players for reasonable fees
Brought in #1 GK
Brought in #1 CB (at least potential to be #1)
Brought in Striker with potential/opportunity to be a #1
Brought in workhorse MF to add quality/depth to the mix
Brought in Rooney, with versatility and experience
Brought in several U23 players
Bought talented forward who will be available next season
******edit:
This should probably be seen in the larger context of what RK/SW have done in three windows, so add in experienced winger (Bolassie), young winger (Lookman), young striker (DCL), and starting MF (Schiederlin, Gana), and it's a solid foundation for continued improvement.

This is repairing the infrastructure, and there's still more to be seen this window if rumors are to be believed, but we're not installing the expensive marble finishes yet. That comes later.
