Koeman needs a high defensive line in order to carry out the high energy pressing style that be likes. Having a new defence backline is a no Bramber.
With the current defence, there is no pace on them. This will leave huge spaces in midfield and attack

SELL SELL SELL

Lennon
McCarthy
Pennington
Kone
Valencia

My heart weeps when any of these players are on the team sheet

Only played about 30 games between them so we could replace them with 1-2 good players

Ship Valencia back then

I added Pennington just because I wanted to make the list longer, and we don't need a 7th choice CB (new CB+Galloway ahead of him)
I know we've seen Jags make a comeback in recent games but he and Williams don't really have many years left. I get what you're saying though I have doubts about whether he can make it but let's just wait and see.

It's criminal the lack of a decent 2nd forward and the length of time we've gone praying Rom doesn't get a knock.

If we are serious about finishing in the top 6 we need a very good 2nd striker.

I really think a good signing for us could be one of Pablo Zabaleta or Bacary Sagna. Older players, but experienced, won things. Both available for free. Both would be ideal to replace Coleman before he comes back in winter and I feel like they still have a season or two in them. It would allow Seamus to comeback slowly to get back into his old form.

And if we are somehow able to sign Sead Kolasinac (or at least Charlie Taylor) for free as well, we could then spend big on VVD, Keane and Pickford. That defence would be fantastic with competition for places. Then we hopefully sign Rooney for free, buy Sigurdsson and sign a striker (Defoe). And potentially sell McCarthy to buy another midfielder (Tielemans). Sell Deulofeu, RFM, Niasse too. If it is right that we have around 100m to spend, then it should be achiavable to stay under this amount of net spend. This would be an ideal summer for me.

Teams in champions league places have won 4 more games than us, and you're saying it's a ridiculous comment to make, despite it being true?

Making out that anyone who believes in positive football, attacking football is foolish is a ridiculous comment.

Didn't Ferguson play attacking football? Don't Barcelona?

I could just as easily say you believe in defensive, Moyesesque football. That you'd go to the big teams and bottle it because you believe in defensive football, but I wouldn't because that would be as stupid as your comment.

Chelsea won leagues playing great defensive football. Man Utd won them playing great attacking football.

The argument isn't which ones better, it's more a case of which one would help us attain a champions league place, bearing in mind the squad we have currently.

My only point is, unless we have tons of money we're better served by improving our attack more than our defence, imo.

£55m on a defender, unless we're loaded would be foolish to me.

Man Utd won the league playing attacking football?! Thier defence over those years of
Schmeichel, Ferdinand, Vidic, Neville, Evra etc also won them those leagues! Arguably 3 of those were best in world in thier peaks!

I actually prefer an attacking philosophy myself, but right now your saying address attacking areas over defensive, which if you ask 8/10 fans I'm sure would disagree. Our attacking options far out weigh the quality we have at the back currently. That's not me saying we don't need more attacking players, but to say without pots of money attack comes first is what is foolish
