...Mahrez seems moody and whilst that is ok when you're picking him up for a bargain it's not something you want to be paying big bucks for. I think he was left out at times by Leicester last season when they needed points. Sigurdsson is different gravy and I wouldn't compare them given the positions they play.
Eh just sign both of them. I'm sold on it. Buy everyone.

A defensive mid that drops between defenders like Barry, Busquets, Schneiderlin, Verratti etc. is the modern day sweeper. As you say, current offside laws make a sweeper irrelevant and frankly dangerous.
I was actually gonna say an anchor, half back type defensive MF would probably do a similar job without the attacking threat I suppose

...Tisserand looks interesting, a bit raw but interesting. Fast, strong and a big unit. I notice Arsenal were sniffing around not so long ago. Low risk punt, I'd be ok with that.
Interesting this one. Everyone wants Walsh to pluck unearthed gems out of nowhere and this lad certainly fits the bill. My only concern and it is a real concern, if we are too have aspirations to challenge the top 4, then I'm not sure jags or Williams partnering Keane is good enough. Tisserand is definitely one for the future and possibly cup football, but it would be a big ask for him to step into the premier league.

Everton target Arsenal's Theo Walcott for £30m transfer swoop as their big-spending summer continues

Ronald Koeman wants a wide-man with Yannick Bolasie out long-term and the England international ended last season on the bench

BYJOHN RICHARDSON

Everton are planning a £30million move forArsenal’s Theo Walcott.

Manager Ronald Koeman had been hoping to make it a Gunners double by snapping up Olivier Giroud too, but the France striker seems bound for Borussia Dortmund as the German club’s replacement for Chelsea-bound Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

That has seen Koeman switch his attention to Crystal Palace’s former Liverpool hitman Christian Benteke.

While it’s no-go over Giroud, he could be more successful in his pursuit of England wide-man Walcott, who was in and out of Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger’s plans last season.

Spurs want Barkley deal done before they leave on US tour — though at only HALF Everton's valuation

With Yannick Bolasie out until the end of the year with a knee injury, Koeman wants a wide player and has also contacted Leicester about Demarai Gray.

Having already spent around £100m this summer, Everton are also closing in on a £45m deal for Swansea’s Gylfi Sigurdsson thanks to the financial muscle of big shareholder Farhad Moshiri.

Nothing against him but you don't sign a CB for a couple of million because you missed one at 70m.
