Better out there for that fee imo. Wish we would go for that Lemos think he has the potential to be a very good CB. Looks to have that pace and ability on the ball we could do with next to no nonsense Keane.

Lemos is only about £5m cheaper but doesn't speak English and only might turn out good. Gibson is PL proven quality and young as well.

Personally I would have signed only one of Siggurdsson/Klaassan and gone for a more pacier option out on the left side of midfield.

Sandro Siggurdsson Seri

Giroud/Benteke

Would be much better than:

Sandro Klaassan Siggurdsson

Giroud/Benteke

Not much pace there imo especially on the counter

Yep totally agree. I am a little bit shocked how they have allowed this to happen.

One season in a relegated team should n0t qualify as prem proven. Siggurdson and Giroud would be prem proven. Gibson still carries a question mark just like Pickford and Keane.

Not sold on him mate, Boro's manager played extremely defensive minded football and once he went and they got the caretaker in who opened them up a bit he didn't look as good. He'll do well in a Pulis type team but for that money Its a gamble if we are to play more open football. Keane was just as much a gamble although he has alot more quality than Gibson.

I think we also are in danger of trying to sign too many 'proven' PL players. The likes of Van Dijk, Eriksen, Mane, Tadic, Coutinho etc. Are proof you can sign 'risk' players from outside of the league who can become top players.

Well, PL proven in that he's had a full 38 games and been praised by lots of pro's of the game. Lemos has only played about 30 games in La Liga and is a complete unknown.

Watching Celtic vs Rosenberg and Tierney is class, quick and can whip a very good ball in. He would be a fantastic signing can't believe Koeman/Walsh haven't looked at him as someone to push Baines/be an understudy. Considering Celtic want £20 million for their star striker we could get Tierney for around £10-12 million you would imagine which is a bargain in the current market.

Rest assured mate, I am not, never ever have been or ever will be a "WUM".

I want Everton to be European Champions and English champions. I want them to be playing their football in the best stadium in Europe. I want our team to play the most entertaining but ruthlessly efficient football possible. I want our organisation represented with dignity and credibility on - and especially off the pitch - and the most public of faces we show to the world to be fantastic ambassadors for the club.

They are my objectives. If we fall short of at the very least aiming for those then we shouldn't be happy.

Good to hear Dave and that is important. If the majority of the support is content with mediocrity we will never make it back. However, we just need to be realistic on the timeline. I feel we are moving in the right direction now but we have a massive gap to make up.

I see posts asking what is acceptable for the coming season and people saying top 7 again and better runs in the cups.

That isn't realistic. That's just surrender.

I understand where you are coming from. It can be tricky though with centre backs. Boro looked very solid defensively the first half of the season but I wonder much of that was due to Gibson and how much was down to the negative tactics of their manager. A lot of CB's can look good defending their 18 yard box with well organised protection in front if them. When Boro changed managers and experimented with a more expansive game I recall that they started to leak a lot of goals.

Is that a no you didn't watch him then?

Only reason I ask is that @bluestevon does watch that lot and I'm sure he said he was turd.
Just seen clips here and there his highlights of the season stuff thats all, but you can see he is a class act.
Its all about opinions and mine is he would be a good signing and would not cost the earth now...
