I see posts asking what is acceptable for the coming season and people saying top 7 again and better runs in the cups.
That isn't realistic. That's just surrender.
Lets just reach 40 points and take it from there hey Dave.

Well yeah, but I don't think our squad looks anywhere near say top 4 and if anything we've widened our gap from the top 6 seeing as we've given our silver to united. Then that is a massive failure after spending the cash from selling the family silver.
Just seen clips here and there his highlights of the season stuff thats all, but you can see he is a class act.
Its all about opinions and mine is he would be a good signing and would not cost the earth now...
I agree about Tierney but for all we know they may have already, Celtic have already stated that they won't let anyone go until they know if they've qualified for the champions league group phases or notWatching Celtic vs Rosenberg and Tierney is class, quick and can whip a very good ball in. He would be a fantastic signing can't believe Koeman/Walsh haven't looked at him as someone to push Baines/be an understudy. Considering Celtic want £20 million for their star striker we could get Tierney for around £10-12 million you would imagine which is a bargain in the current market.
...£3.75M per point if we spend £150M.Lets just reach 40 points and take it from there hey Dave.
Who says they haven't looked at Tierney? Fact is celtic fans love him and see him as future captain and in no way want to sell him, especially on the cheap.Watching Celtic vs Rosenberg and Tierney is class, quick and can whip a very good ball in. I agree with Dave here actually. After last season it was 'he has to deal with Martinez' dross, let's wait until he has HIS players in'. For all intents and purposes, THIS is HIS team. What's the point in bringing in Koeman to bring the team from the lofty heights of 7th and ambitiously challenge for.. 7th?

Doesn't even make sense.Sadly 2 lower half finishes cost the club around 75m a few seasons back, thats the price you pay for choosing the wrong manager.
Doesn't even make sense.
Oh, absolutely, That would be progress.Leicester have proved there is no ceiling. We have a lot of new players but refreshingly many have been signed early so can bed in. If Koeman can get us organised and we start well (we have a very difficult first couple of months) and have a good run with injuries then anything is possible. However the reality is that if we are brutally honest the teams ahead of us still have better players and are able to attract a calibre of player we can't. We are also likely to be handicapped by Thursday night football. So realistically I would accept 7th with an improved points total and a cup victory as progress and something that could be built on.
I like what they are doing with the investment in the U23's. This strategy could help us close the gap if we can unearth some gems. If we can continue to demonstrate a path to first team football for young talent then we will be viewed as a more attractive prospect for young talent then the Sky 6. This can be our competitive advantage until we can close the gap on those above.
I was trying to work that one out myself.Doesn't even make sense.
I understand where you are coming from. It can be tricky though with centre backs. Boro looked very solid defensively the first half of the season but I wonder much of that was due to Gibson and how much was down to the negative tactics of their manager. A lot of CB's can look good defending their 18 yard box with well organised protection in front if them. When Boro changed managers and experimented with a more expansive game I recall that they started to leak a lot of goals.
