Personally think Davies, Lookman and Kenny may have started in that final if they were in that ajax squad for last season getting games.

They should all really be starting, better than our other options

Davies or Klaassen/Gana right now has to be Davies
Lookman is so far ahead of Mirallas
Kenny or Cuco

De Ligt or Williams/Jags would need to be brought through slowly but after a few game he'd take us up a notch
Dolberg or Sandro/DCL would be the main option with Sandro partnering him when needed and DCL for lesser games

Clear to me that these young lads would take over roles in the team quickly and if we finish 7th again but all these young lads get the experience and improve to a higher level we could have a really special team in a year

..I don't disagree, you get the feeling those youngsters are champing at the bit. The Schneiderlin/Davies axis would be my starting partnership for Saturday but it might take injuries and suspensions for the others to force their way in. I think it was the '86 World Cup when Robson/Wilkins were immovable but both became unavailable and Hoddle/Reld came in and England's fortunes took an upturn.

It sounds like the left sided defender is wanted for cover and if it is somebody as promising as De Ligt he might have to wait for his opportunity.

im including Valencia because he was our back up to rom last season ( last season we still needed a striker, imagine rom got injured )

we've signed sandro... and rooney isn't a striker anymore, you telling me your ok going into the season with the striker situation as it is?

Where did I say I was happy if that's how we left it? Was just adding the numbers up.

When Koeman says he wants a left-sided defender he means left-footed (to play both positions). However, people like De Ligt are right-footed and only play the left-hand side because someone has to. He's not a "left-sided defender". Hate that term.

Well you was seemingly justifying replacing lukaku and Valencia with sandro and Rooney ( who isn't a striker ) when i stated we needed another striker

And if you're not happy witg the current striker situation agree with me and don't be a nuisance

..it's a fair point, and given the requirement there's probably no interest in De Ligt.

There may be interest (highly doubtful yet) but the notion he's a potential target because he plays left CB is nonsense as he's right-footed and can't play left-back. Majority of teams have two right-footed centre halves.

Why is it all quiet on the striker front? Surely this is the top priority? Surely there was a plan...

"If Sigurdsson does sign it is not expected to be the last move made by Everton with Koeman also still wanting to bring in a left-back and a left-sided centre-half as he builds a squad to challenge."

From the Telegraph....
