Summer Transfer Window 2017

When Koeman says he wants a left-sided defender he means left-footed (to play both positions). However, people like De Ligt are right-footed and only play the left-hand side because someone has to. He's not a "left-sided defender". Hate that term.

It was only a friendly but Martina showed he can cover left back. I think that can wait until next year. Striker is a must

There may be interest (highly doubtful yet) but the notion he's a potential target because he plays left CB is nonsense as he's right-footed and can't play left-back. Majority of teams have two right-footed centre halves.

..I agree but given the very specific (and I think odd) CB/LB requirement, then you'd have to think we are looking elsewhere. Saying that, Van den Hauwe was brilliant in both those positions as a right footer during the successful championship campaigns of the 80s but he was a very talented and vastly underrated defender.

"If Sigurdsson does sign it is not expected to be the last move made by Everton with Koeman also still wanting to bring in a left-back and a left-sided centre-half as he builds a squad to challenge."

From the Telegraph....

Yeah, thought that was odd given Koeman has specifically mentioned another striker several times.

So I got bored and looked at some transfer specials to see who we're linked with there as everything seems a little dry at the minute, was surprised to see we are 7/1 to sign Slimani, I'd heard a faint rumour and I know bookies are nothing to go by, but that seemed oddly low odds for the idle gossip around Twitter

Yeh not ruling out a right-footer but they aren't my preference.

I'll admit Van den Hauwe was wayyyy before my time so will take your word for it haha.

We have made a considerable net investment this summer. Adding up reported transfer fees paid and taking away reported transfer fees received to give you a "net spend" figure tells you a very small part of the picture and is worthless in isolation. It's not even a "thing" apart from for fans to talk about on the internet in blissful ignorance

You just love the blueroom don't us mate.
