Willian Jose, Nikola Kalanic seem to fit the bill but I don't think we are now interested in Jose.

I said earlier in the thread but Kalanic has come leaps and bounds since Blackburn. 20 goals in all competitions last season and fits the target man role, also younger than Giroud.

..whilst seeing plenty of discussion on here, I'm not sure I've seen a single link to Deeney. From what I've seen he's very ordinary but I suppose ordinary players can help blend others. Listened to an interview with him last season and to be fair football definitely matters to him, I just think he's very limited and to quote £35m for him is an amazing benchmark.

Leicester used to be linked with him for a year or two when Walsh was there. Think that's why the rumour started on here mate.

To be honest, I think the 35 mio being bandied about was just a number some of lads on here thought was likely. I do not think there has been an 'official' mention of that figure, although I do recall near the start of the window, Watford mentioning 30 mio.
But I'm a bit ambivalent on this; a bit iffy. I would rather adopt a more patient approach and see if better quality comes available near the end of the window. Who that might be? Dunno.

...I don't know this fella but from what I can see he's simply quoting Sky Sports Italia. The link I saw mentioned the same outlet but said the source was Calciomercato.

I wouldn't concentrate on goal scoring ratio, I'd be more interested if he's the target man type RK seems to be after.
Aye that's my thinking too Eggs, Koeman isn't looking for a central striker just as a pure goal scorer, he's looking for someone to build a platform off for the other attackers to interplay with.

..that's my thinking too based on the type of players we've been linked with. It's not a like for like Lukaku replacement, it's somebody who fits the managers team model.
