Summer Transfer Window 2017

Looking at the team/squad as it stands I personally think it needs 3-4 players that will walk straight into the team (CB, creative CM with a goal threat & right winger, possibly even a CF...). Then we need 2-3 players that are more than capable of slotting straight into the team but will bulk the squad and bench out and give us options!

We've got rid of a lot of crap in Jan and hopefully some of them move on for good so we need to fill the squad out with better quality. If I was the manager I'd go for 2 CB's as Funes Mori is too much of a liability when called upon week in, week out imo and Williams looks shakey alongside him for that. Jags as great as he as been over the years has had his day with us now and I think he will move on so with him gone and Mori not being good enough as permanent fixture in the side and Holgate still wet behind the ears, we need another 2 CB's I feel.

The centre of our midfield is the strongest part of our team imo now. We have a destructive DM in Gueye, a bit of an all rounder in Schneiderlin who can also play but we lack that creative player who can open teams up, pick a forward pass between the lines in the final third. Davies looks like he can do it but I see him more in a Schneiderlin role in the team. I'm not 100% convinced Barkley is the answer either, and before people start to think I'm slagging him off etc, I'm not. I just don't think he's that player for us. Yes he can be creative at times but he doesn't break forward from midfield enough for me and get close to Lukaku or go beyond him and into the box to get enough goals. He likes to drop deep and have the ball and when he plays in the No.10 role, or wide right in a forward 3 like he has been doing of late, he drops too deep searching for the ball and leaves Lukaku isolated up top and imo leaves the team unbalanced at times. Also were so devoid of a genuine right sided player with quality and that position needs addressing come the summer too, along with a creative attacking CM with goals in him (Good luck with finding that one, Walshy...).

And obviously we need a CF that can give Lukaku much needed competition to push him on and keep him on his toes but also be able to partner him in a 2 or play just off of him. I know some won't agree but Gabbiadini would of been ideal. His favoured position is from wide, preferably wide right and at Sampdoria, and his first season at Napoli, he was a really good foil out on the right, cutting in and linking play with the CF and he's got intelligent movement in and around the box and clever link play and he would of been ideal for us down the right in a forward 3. Lukaku wouldn't of been half as isolated up top with a Gabbiadini in the team, or a Lucas Perez for that matter IF we could of signed him ahead of Arsenal?!

It's a big summer coming up for Koeman and hopefully he gets the right players in, the players he wants and thinks can make us better and take us to the next level. Hopefully we get some favours in the cups (United win the league cup, a top 4 side win the FA Cup...) and we get Europa league which will help us a bit to entice better players!

Seen some a little undecided on Michael Keane of Burnley but he's having a great game here against Chelsea and Costa. I get the shouts about Burnley defending deep and in numbers, leaving no space between the lines so he doesn't really get left with a lot of space in and around him or behind so doesn't really get exploited for pace but he doesn't look no slouch here and is defending brilliantly and I can see why Walsh, and Koeman, are keen on him!

...yep, they don't leave the CBs exposed so there is always a doubt but he's certainly dealt well with balls pumped into the box.

Hmm, he's definitely got something about him. Seems to have a wise head on his young shoulders and reads the game well. May not be lightening quick but he's not slow but he gets himself into good start off positions so he doesn't get out run.

What formation do you set up your team on a away fixture at Stoke when it's windy mate?

Sigurdsson is an absolute MUST for me. The guy is absolute class.

Where would we play him though, I can't see him working in a front 3, to play him in a centre 3 probably means no Davies. He does well at Swansea because he's their main man and almost plays a free roll. I like him as a player but I just don't think he's be that effective for us to be honest mate. I think the same thing would happen that happened at Spurs

I'd play him behind Lukaku, with 3 midfielders behind. Any 3 you like, depending on the game.
He could even play as a wide attacker in a 3.
Spurs had Eriksson, we don't.
