Logic would say no as he scored about a thousand goals for them last season but their transfer policy is now run by Monchi who often allowed important players to leave Sevilla as he was confident he could replace them with younger alternatives who could develop into better players. Roma have signed Cengiz Under and Gregoire Defrel so far this summer for their attack so maybe they might look at Dzeko who is 31 as expendable.

I think 85m for lukaku a proven goal scoring machine is undervalued in this market. And Rooney was planning to come to everton in all probability in any case with the pay cut. Pity also that we didn't use lukaku to leverage some swap for a permanent long term striker- rashford or martial for example.

But I have made my point. I won't mention it again unless he bangs a hat trick against us

What market are you referring to? He's gone for 30M more than any other striker. He's blown away the market.

I think its more a case of wanting another striker Zat, rather than clamouring for either of them.

Still like Willian Jose, could deal with Bost, maybe take a flier on Jorgensen from a style standpoint. I've said it before, but I thought he was crap based on highlights. Was very impressed watch a full game.

Yes we are stronger now. But we shot ourselves in the foot by selling lukaku to a direct rival in the Premier league. So 2 steps forward but one step back. We caved to man u, look at Liverpool, they have already pushed up coutiniho price from 80m to 119m-their price is increasing yet somehow we started at 100m and went the opposite direction.

We were flogging Lukaku, lfc aren't with Coutinho.

Whichever striker the club buys (if they buy one at all) is unlikely to have the support of the full fan base. There seems to be a real dearth of quality out there, no real front runner seems to have emerged in these last few weeks. Perhaps we'd be best buying another young striker and playing Sandro as our first choice throughout the season?

Either that or throw too much money at a guy like Benteke, take a huge gamble on someone like Slimani or just hope that Walsh has an ace up his sleeve.

But you cant keep dismissing other peoples views unless you bring your own to the table.

Bored of hearing the same 4/5 players ( none of whom will likely come or we would want ) get mentioned so give us your mini wanted list and how much you think they will cost.

Lukaku was sold (I believe) as he wanted out.

We could re-invest the money in Belotti (Torino are dreadful) and I think we'd have a good chance of getting him for substantially lower than his 85mil buyout clause...he'd be one of the best in the league immediately and has a long career ahead of him.

The alternative as I have always said is to go for a young player, now do we either go (back?) in for Keite Balde and have a 3 pronged attack with one (Sandro?) as a false 9 or straight in for dolberg as more of a traditional centre forward? Both of these are potential world class players and were not getting top 4 this season so it makes sense to transition these young lads through for a year before they hit their full stride in a season.

As a side note, people are saying dembele at celtic wont be sold as hes injured...medicals still go through if theyre almost recovered and in a week or so he'll be almost there.

No hidden gems I'm afraid, if we want to be serious we go for Belotti, Dolberg or Keita in that order.
