I realise this might not be popular, but right now I think we should be all over Chris Wood for the £15m Burnley look likely to sign him for.

Exactly the type of player Koeman wants, affordable (heck he's only going to cost half a Johnny Evans in this loopy transfer market!), he's about the right age, realistic (some of the shouts on here are crazy with players people think we should be signing) & would surely jump at the chance of a move here. Plus, getting a target man in at a reasonable cost allows us to look at having funds for left back cover & a much needed left sided centre half.

The problem is there aren't many quality available forwards who would realistically come here at a price we could afford after all the other money we've spent

I would love to see him play for us because I'm biased as hell about it. However, I think the safer choice is to see how he fares at Burnley.

I liked the look of him in the 14 seconds of Hull footage I saw last season. Balanced, composed.

Looked a player.

I took some cack for suggesting we should have took him, especially for the pittance that was £8.5m.
He can only improve. Same with Maguire. Playing some good stuff with Leicester.

Immobile is arguably Lazio's top striker, would cost much more than Woods, would want much more in wages than him & I'm not convinced he'd be mad keen on leaving Italy again after only mediocre spells abroad


Bas Dost? Yeah, great goalscoring record in the Dutch & Portuguese league, but international record is awful, much worse than Woods. Rumored to have a £40m buyout so not sure how affordable he is (or realistically if we want to throw that much coin to get him) & would his team want to flog there leading striker at this point in time, I have my doubts. Also would probably demand large wages for an unproven player in England.

Would still much rather take a smaller 'risk' on someone like Woods than either tbh

I cant find a Striker available for 15m, its not possible to buy a good Striker for 15m, so whoever I mention wouldnt be as cheap, but theres a reason hes cheap and theres a reason he signing for Burnley.

I watched his goals from last season a couple of months ago and I wasn't that impressed. Most of his goals are really scrappy and a lot were penalties. I'm not convinced he's got enough to be a quality striker in the Premier League. I guess we'll find out now he's going to Burnley.
