I think that recent performances by Jagielka may have changed the managers mind about the centrehalf position. I think Jakielka had been written off by the manager after poor performances at the start of the season, but he has been very good since coming back into the team.

There is no doubt we will sign one with Keane ,Maguire as contenders, just as easily we could sign somebody as good from abroad for less money.
That would leave us with Williams, Jagielka, Keane/Maguire ? , Holgate and maybe Pennington as fifth choice centreback and possible cover at right back.
I think a good offer could see Ramiro Funes sold.

Problem with that is we could play potentially 60 games next yr, and with a couple of injuries we could be relying on a 35 yr old and a 21yr old.

Jags has be good since coming back. But still has flaws to his game these days. He's got no pace whatsoever. Made a mistake against Burnley, that would have been Punished against a better team. Leicester's equaliser why did he go across with Pennington, leaving a huge cap to his left.

We need 2 new CB's in my opinion.

If we go in for two CBs depends on whether RK decides to sell Funes Mori. I hope he does which is why I have suggested both signings. There's going to be a lot of games to play next season and I see plenty of opportunity for your younger CBs. I can see Holgate getting a regular game at FB and also I suspect at least one of Pennington, Galloway and Browning will go in the summer. Jags, who I hope stays, may not be happy with a bit part so he may look to move too and I don't think RK will stand in his way.

Whether United or Liverpool buy Keane is irrelevant. The fact is they are being linked to him so the press obviously think he's good enough for them.

Look at uniteds record this season
They have the second best defensive record this season 24 goals conceded
They have the worst goalscoring record of the top 7
They have only scored 3 more than Bournemouth.
They have Bailly Blind Rojo Smalling and Jones as CB
Jose has on more than one occasion publicly slated his attackers both in the press on on TV
That's with Radhford Zlatan Rooney Martial Lindegaard Pogba and Michararian (sp)
So it's common sense and Jose has said it he's happy with his defence but not with his attack.
So a move for Keane makes no sense

Liverpool have the joint worse defence of the top 9 and have been crying out for defensive options for the last 3 seasons so it's no wonder they are linked to Keane GIBSON Maguire etc

As I said I'm not ITK I just listen to TV interviews and good journalists plus I look at some stats.
Koeman has stated on numerous occasions that part of his brief is to bring through Acadamy players.
He has said this on the official Everton website and App
He will want to give Holgate Pennington Galloway and the young CH mentioned in the press today a chance to impress.
Therefore if air makes no sense to sign two CH to go straight into the first 11.
As I said I don't play Football Manager or FIFA 17 so I wouldn't offer advice to a CL winner.
All I do is express what I consider to be an informed and rational opinion

I fully agree with you, and also it isn't my money they are spending. If they want to spend 14 mil or 25 mil on a player it is fine by me as long as we are bringing players in

Centre mid 9.48
Defensive mid 8.86
Centre back 7.19

Messi is 8.25 to 8.63 for example so Gimenez is really knocking some socks off.

Little bit different as Barzagli was always going to start due to the manager favouring experience + benatia came back in so rugani is facing an uphill battle since the start of the year when juve apparently turned our enquiry down.

Gimenez on the other hand has given the impression that hes a red card liability a couple of times in the last 12months so simeone is playing savic.

I think gimenez would be fabulous in England, rugani is also a clever player but gimenez I think could adapt far more easily

Had no idea we were linked with Rugani. Apparently an absolute class act.
