In an ideal world there is no doubt that you are right.Problem with that is we could play potentially 60 games next yr, and with a couple of injuries we could be relying on a 35 yr old and a 21yr old.
Jags has be good since coming back. But still has flaws to his game these days. He's got no pace whatsoever. Made a mistake against Burnley, that would have been Punished against a better team. Leicester's equaliser why did he go across with Pennington, leaving a huge cap to his left.
We need 2 new CB's in my opinion.
However, I think that finances may require some mixing and matching.
We certainly require a new centrehalf, and at the very least cover at both right back and left back. There may be an opportunity for Galloway at left back but after the manager was prepared to let him go out on loan and at the same time put a less experienced Holgate into the team certainly raises doubt about how the manager rates him. Equally it is difficult to know how quickly Coleman is back and how long it will take to recover full fitness and form.
If Lukaku leaves, as looks likely, we need probably two centrforwards as we are dangerously short on numbers in that dept. at present .
We need another creative midfielder and a wise player as well as you cannot completely count on youngsters like Lookman and DCL.
Hopefully when we go into the market we will be signing players that are better than what we have or at least as good and they are going to cost serious money.
I think the manager will try to prioritise certain areas and try to work with what he already has in the squad and the best of the academy as much as possible to allow him to chase better, but more expensive players.
