Summer Transfer Window 2017

Is Koeman trying to send a message to the board? I can't think of any other reasons for his setup today.

He's spent enough money to not have to go with that setup today.

Big fan of RonKoe, but out lack of pace and shape is very worrying. When fully fit Klassen, Rooney, Sigurdsson and Barkley will all be vying for one position. The rest will be played out of position. Even if Barkley goes, we need a winger/2, centre forward and a centre-half.

Sorry but where in this does it say anything about Costa? Sky suck haha.

COSTA TO EVERTON?

Well, well, well! It was seen as little more than transfer gossip earlier in the week, but speaking after Everton's defeat to Chelsea this afternoon, Ronald Koeman has said a move to bring Diego Costa to Goodison Park could potentially materialise before Thursday's deadline...

"Everybody knows the situation [the need for a striker] - we will talk and we hope we can do some business. We continue to talk about the squad and we know we need a striker."

Kevin Mirallas is a potential departure from Merseyside, the Dutchman added, while he says the club has received no offers for Ross Barkley.

It doesn't say Costa lol but why would koeman let mirallas go?

We must get a striker in, end of.

RK has just been emphasizing the point (correctly) again but it can't be allowed to become a crutch on which the whole season stands or falls, whether we get one or not.

Why?

If we don't sign one then we won't be doing anything this season simple.

We seem to have built a team without the centre piece. We have brought in attacking midfielders but haven't brought in a centre forward to focus the attack. If we don't get a good centre forward we will struggle to score goals. I am not saying the centre forward will score all our goals but we need one to hold up play and bring other players in. We also need him to have pace to cou get the bigger teams.

Just look at the impact Calvert-Lewin after coming on (albeit late in the game) by just running hard and jumping high, set up a couple chances by just knocking the ball on with his head. Desperately need a target man. Especially with Pickford's distribution, he can find that man nearly every time.

You can't build a winning side in just one season. It's promising we have invested since January, and yes, we need maybe a striker and a CB to play alongside Keane.

But. This project will take time. And we will have plenty more days like today. Onwards and upwards.

Not having that sorry at all.

We've had days like this for too many years now and am fed up of it.

Attitude and personnel not good enough again.

Excuses after excuses.

Why do you all do it?

I can take unjustified red cards and stuff like that but why does it hurt some of you to questions and not make excuses jt doesn't make you bad fans.

We are criminally short up front and we only have one high standard of CB.

We also have one LB who's 32 and looks like is going to be expected to play 50 games this season.

We haven't got any pace and lost the best striker I've ever seen stick on a blue jersey.

Yes we finally have a good GK and we have bought a solid CB in Keane, Rooney is looking good, and we have plenty of potential for the future. There's plenty of positives but we are still lacking and if we want to do something we have to spend big again. Football is in a sad state of affairs when you finish 7th spend £145 Million and still no closer to finishing top 6. Unfortunately that's the way it is now.

So stop making excuses and demand the best and we might just get somewhere soon.
