Wait, I just read we're going to sell Mirallas? So we're literally going to have Lookman and Lennon as the only wide players in the entire squad despite the only time we've looked remotely balanced so far this season was when we had two wingers on at the same time. Great.

We need players who can beat a man. Our 2 best halfs were second half against stoke and first half against hajduk when we played with wingers. Lennon, Lookman and Mirallas arent good enough, we knew that already last year. If we had players like Mane and Salah on the wing we would be 50% better.

we need numbers and options now, we should be able to get both for £50m rather than a single striker.

We looked out of ideas today, we cannot rely on Wayne's guile and SiggySiggy set pieces.

crying out for some imagination in midfield. Have needed someone for years. The team looks so flat and clueless going forward. Hope Klaassen finds his feet soon. A number 9 and a CB desperately.

I think this is the point with us adding all the u21 players into the squad and the u23s.

If we have 11+ players in the first team squad that will last us for a decade then I think were ok to add in the odd Sigurdsson.

GK - Pickford
RCB - Keane
RB - Holgate/Kenny
RCM - Davies
CM - Besic
AM - Dowell/Klaassen
LW - Lookman
CF - DCL

That's as many as I can think of under 25, we need to be adding more to this group so that over the next 3-4 years time we have a really settled side. Bowler, Gibson and Walsh may be possibilities to step up as well I guess.

What I think we need is a Left back to replace baines (33 in dec) and another left sided centre back. Both should be under 25.

If we have half a squad of players under 25 then we can top this up with u21 stars and experienced players each year.

But for me we shouldn't be going for an older, experienced forward. We have Rooney and Sigurdsson supplying and educating the attacking players...for me we should be going for a young player, future superstar.

I agree with all of that mate. There's no doubt we are adding promising young players and thats been the most impressive aspect of the window. Even today of the 14 lads involved we had an average age of under 26 (including with Williams, Jags, Baines, Lennon and Rooney).

I'd happily have an older striker if it was the right fit. Giroud for me would have been perfect and would have allowed DCL to develop.

As I think you've said I'd like to see us pull the stops out for another young centre half. Maguire at Leicester seems a really good fit though people turn their noses up. I'd like to see us go for Gibson at Boro. Within quite a short space of time I think we'd have built a formidable back line and a real base to move forwards with. Even with todays performance, we got battered but didn't give away too many clear opportunities. That is going to be the best way forward for me.

As for a young superstar striker I agree but I have my doubts we can afford a Dolberg. Maybe the kid Dembele from Celtic may have been a good option, or even Martial at United prior to him getting back in favour?
