Can we sign some good players please?

..Pickford, Keane, Sigurdsson and Klaassen are the big money signings and arguably all look at least 'good'. Rooney and Sandro cost little (as far as fees are concerned). Rooney looks a good player and it's probably a bit early to judge Sandro.

It's not just about signing 'good' players, it's about getting the right blend.

I'm in complete awe that we've failed to bring in an out and out winger this summer. If there was one thing that was evidently clear last year, it's that we needed someone with direct running ability.

Think we've bought great players. However, don't see the need for Klaassen AND Sigurdsson.

And Rooney. Get just one of them, sign one player with pace and one player with creative passing, and suddenly everything looks much better. Getting all three is so weird.

we have enough players blending into the pitch....lets try sign a good player or 2 now

meanwhile the RS sign Keita and we are falling further behind by the day because the teams who mean business are now doing it

hahaha change your underwear. jesus christ. Your fuming because they spent all summer trying to get him and yet have to settle for next year, whilst not actually strenthening any of their weak areas, whereas we've nailed pretty much all of our top targets in our weakest areas.

..yes. I think it was telling when RK responded by saying we are after players who are "available". I can imagine we've enquired about the likes of Costa and Dolberg and been told they're a no go.

Exactly mate. We will of gone down all avenues for a striker no doubt, Giroud, Benteke, Dzeko, Willian Jose and many more, even Costa now and we haven't had any joy as none of those are available or want to come to us so now it's even tougher to find someone we think can come in and do the job?!

...for me the key comment was about signing players who are "available". It indicates we might have enquired about the likes of Costa and Dolberg but have been told they are going nowhere. Similarly, it's difficult to see how a club like Leicester would make Vardy available at this stage of the window with little or no chance of a replacement coming in.

The key consideration with the list of players we're linked with is whether they are likely to be made available by the selling club.
I would expect that at this late stage all of the clubs know who is available or likely to be so.
Players like Costa, Coutinho , Barkley, Mirallas and Mahrez all have to have their futures decided, probably plenty more.
There will be a few who will not fit into the plans of a new manager and there will be a few wedged free from a club courtesy of a big transfer fee.

It may be that if we cannot sign the striker we want we may go for something different like Mahrez , there are just so many permutations that it is impossible to guess at what will happen, but it must be getting frantic at this stage building to hysterical by Thursday.

We have not managed to get a successor to Lukaku. I fully accept that we're not going to get anyone as good as him, but surely there must be somebody available in one of the European leagues who wouldn't cost a king's ransom?

I remember as a lurker from afar (unregistered) there was lots of chat about Jose and I can't help but think the costa talk is in the same vein

Just don't see the point of loaning Costa until January.

Obviously far from an ideal arrangement for Everton, but IF we get a decent number of games out of him, he is a player in Lukaku's class who could make the difference for us. How can we say no to that ?
