Thanks man but it's on a different Everton site. I know the silly amount of money the owner of this one puts into this site so it's not right to link another site when there's perfectly good content on here. Plus, he has me down as Nicky Barmby in his phone already for my treachery.

Link doesnt work.

2 things stand out in this thread:

1. We are that desperate for signings people are happy for anyone.

2. We are trying to put a brave face on this signing like our fans did with Kone (but he scored 12 goals last season) and Robles (he was ahead of de gea at atletico once upon a time).

Obviously you have to give players a chance but I don't understand this giving 100% blind faith in Walsh, Sir Alex thought Cleverly and Anderson were good players, Moyes Koldrup, Martinez Alcatraz, Mcgeady etc. I personally am gutted if we don't bring in atleast one of Witsel or Cavarlho to compliment him.

I agree but I think it's completely stupid to ignore the opinions of Villa fans and brushing them off, I seem to remember us blues doing similar on social media to Wigans views on Martinez, I remember some Sunderland fans laughing off our criticisms of Rodwell as being bitter he left for city etc.

I may be old fashioned but I'm going to take a hell of a lot of notice of the opinions of a managers/players former clubs fans who have watched him a lot more than us going off some stats.

My opinion of him is one that I'm going to give him a chance if he signs but I don't think he'll do much. I would rather a more established player as it where coming in like a Witsel or Cavarlho or if not McCarthy given a run in the side under Koeman.

My only worry with Walsh is that he could potentially do a Carr at Newcastle and focus too much on one league based on past successes. Carr brought Cabaye, Debuchy and to an extent sissoko who were successes but then went down the road of believing everyone from that league was a potential gem, then signed highly rated players like Cabella, thauvin and saviet who have all flopped.

I just hope this Gueye isn't Walsh's Cabella following his successes with Kante and Mahrez?

Koeman says no wholesale signings and instead of having 23/24 in the squad would rather less with using the kids more.

Says to me either a. We haven't got much to spend and will keep some of the players we assume will be out the door (Mccarthy, Lennon etc.) Or b. We have money to spend and intending to bring in 4-5 £15-30 million signings.

Hopefully it's the latter.

Pretty sure the option won't be "let's keep Lennon/McCarthy and just promote more youngsters NET SPEND".

As long as it's a top class GK CH AM and s back up striker I'll be happy
I still reckon 4/5 will leave for about 35/40 million so here's hoping

Suspect we will sell him for something in the region of £70-75 million. Nobody is bidding £100 million.

Then we won't sell him. We've made that clear.

We're not in a position where we have to sell.

And I don't think we'll sell for anything less than Pogba went for.

It's the latter

This Ghezzal guy at Lyon looks like a Mahrez type cutting in off the right but with a more powerful shot. Seems to have a wand of a left foot. Hasn't played much this season and I've read he wants to go to a team in the CL when his contract finishes in June.

Have to agree here
The 100 million was a statement that we don't want to sell
Even Chelsea will baulk at that figure for a player that still needs to improve.
There are cheaper options out there that are more complete ( but not with the potential of Rom )
Morata Belloti , even Griezman if he can be persuaded to leave Athletico.
