He's definitely, definitely not the type of player to do what Mirallas is doing at the moment. 100% waste of him.
I wouldn't say that. Kevin plays his role really well and knows how to move about the pitch, but Davies also makes good darting runs and links up play very well for his age. I will say that Mirallas provides much more goal threat with the ball at his feet, but Koeman has shown that he likes to have players that can press the issue and win the ball. If you move Gana up the pitch, it allows you to do exactly that. It is something I had to see in action before I called it ineffective, and Koeman likes to experiment.

Sorry, I'm saying Tielemans wouldn't be able to play what Mirallas does right now. And I wouldn't mess with the base of 3 we have already.

Fair enough. I agree that we have a good thing going, but Koeman has given every indication that he wants to build a 'destroyer.' I think it is the main reason he has kept McCarthy at the club. Imagine what Burnley did to us in the first half except a million times more competent. Klopp has his team in a champions league place because they are so good at disrupting play. I think Koeman is trying to achieve a similar goal.

He would take Mirallas's spot in the lineup if he joined methinks. Koeman seems to like Gana in a "hounding" role further up the pitch. Davies would play alongside Lukaku which gives him all of the freedom in the world to make runs and free up space. We haven't really played with wingers so Holgate would need to step his game up as well as Baines.

we're not playing a central midfielder upfront.

Yeh we'll leave this here I don't have a clue what you're on about now.

Think he means someone covering a lot of ground, pressing successfully & breaking up play, someone who has legs to get back and put in a tackle when defending too. Could be wrong though, just surmising from what he wrote.

Yeh but my initial point from last night was Davies, Gana & Schniederlin are a midfield 3 I wouldn't touch and even Tielemans who is highly rated wouldn't displace any of them in my opinion. Not sure where this destroyer stuff comes into it.

Tielemans would have to play the exact same role as Davies, and considering that in Davies we already have a teenage attack-minded CM potential star, I'm STILL baffled why people keep banging on about Tielemans. Why would we bring in basically the exact same player profile except for the fact that he's never played in the prem and isn't a boyhood blue?

Yeh this was my point. I mean bring him in to rotate since we have a lot of games then sure, I definitely wouldn't say no, but he wouldn't be a starter.
