Kenneth Zohore: Everton enquiry for Cardiff striker is turned down

Cardiff City have turned down an enquiry from Everton for Danish under-21 striker Kenneth Zohore.

Zohore has also been a target for newly promoted Brighton and Hove Albion and was subject of a bid from Hull City.

The Bluebirds say they are determined to hold onto the player.

Look at our competition there, if Hull couldn't sign him what chance do we have?

we'll go with what we've got".

So your crystal ball IP compatible is it ? By the way we have signed some 6 new first team players but let's not let some facts get in the way of spouting nonsense though eh ?

Getting like RAWK this
Apologies mate, I will look forward to us signing a proven Premiership striker and centre back by Thursday. Sorry once again for any negativity.

We knew we needed one. Koeman has said he wants one and we have the money so there really can be no excuse should we not sign a striker. We've had a really good window but it will be remembered for all the wrong reasons if the club screw this up.

I've typed this up over in the Costa thread, but though i'd share my two-bit view over here if anyone wants to listen (or read for that matter)

---

If we had the opportunity to sign last seasons Diego Costa -fitness issues and the assumption he won't be fully committed saving himself for Atletico aside- for a 6-month period then it would be a fantastic acquisition but it merely papers over cracks.

We'll have built are team around Costa as the focal point, then 6 months later we're left back at square one. The difficulty signing a top centre forward now will only increase in January and given the team would have built to Costa's strengths we'd be looking to plug a very specific hole. Admittedly Costa seems to fit mould as 'targetman' but we'd have spent the best period of the loan figuring out his traits, and playing to his strengths, so it would be a mini-overhaul come January. Face value this seems like a no-brainer, but factoring in everything it doesn't make a lot of sense.

If its Costa for a full season then yes, if its Costa alongside a permanent signing then thats best of both worlds, if its Costa for 6-months then we've really missed the boat in recruiting a replacement for Rom. Costa will surely bang them in for us but (keeping with the boat analogies) we'll be rudderless come January and his goals will only exaggerate the problem we face.

-Special updated sentence(s) for this thread alone: We've done great business this window but its apparent there are still a lot of question marks around fitting everyone in. From Koeman's soundbites it would seem a CF is the 'final piece of the jigsaw' which begs the question why make a temporary fix? If we are willing to pay a premium in January -that notoriously 'difficult window' to sign players in- why are we not willing to pay that premium now? That said i'm not privy to any dealings at Everton, for all I know we could have bid gazillions for Messi, and he's currently on a private jet waiting to land at John Lennon Airport before signing the dotted line on a longterm 6-month loan*

*edit: 5-year contract

Let's finish the transfer window then see where we are, but sorry we have signed too many good players for this window to be written off.

If you remember what pre Mosh looked like scratching around for loans no one has ever heard of then negativity would be justified.

Too many have forgotten what those days were like
