Summer Transfer Window 2017

Squad is still lacking in pace and power plus mentality. So disappointing that against ten Man City and Chelsea we could barely touch them. The teams we are supposedly trying to catch (Spurs, Liverpool) will go to these grounds and have periods of domination. We could barely keep the ball v either.

Rooney Siggurdson Sandro does not match up remotely to

Martial Lukaku Mkhitaryan
Jesus Aguero Sane
Hazard Morata Pedro
Alli Kane Eriksen
Sanchez Lacazette Ozil
Mane Firmino Salah

This is the level we're trying to get to, all of those players have pace power creativity. Ours have creativity and that's about it. Given the lack of creativity in the midfield behind them as well it adds up to a pretty turgid blend currently. These teams all have a Fabregas Silva or Coutinho supplying great forward threes. We have Klaasen (also slow) trying to do a couple of one twos.

It has been ignored in the squad for too long but sadly until someone pays top whack for a creative mid (like Moyes called for with Mourinho Riquelme etc.) and gets pace and power in every position from 1-11 we won't compete above 6th regularly. We still have a first choice CB with no pace, a LB with no pace or power, a midfield three with no creativity and a forward three with no pace.

A lot has been done this summer but it shows just how far we'd fallen behind under Martinez. We were basically a lower bottom half team who had the league's best striker playing for them. Now that we've replaced the keeper, CB, all of the midfielders and the e tire front line we've basically got what is a best of the rest team still a way behind the top 6.

all those other teams built those strikeforces up over a couple of seasons minimum and look at the varying prices. Our 3 in total cost about £50m in transfer fees, most of the other teams have spent £40m on each player or their worth is well above that figure anyway). Over time we'll get there, but folliwng from two mid table finishes and sporadic europa appearances we can't attract that calibre.

If we had kept Rom and Ross I think everyone would have been very happy with our business.

As it stands we are short in key areas and unless it is addressed in the next 24 hours we can pretty much wave goodbye to any silverware this season.

Over to you Everton FC.

We are. We seem to address one or two positions in one window and then neglect others. Last year got Gueye and Schnides and ended up with 6 or 7 CMs in total. Now we have 4 AMs and no quality winger or striker. If Ronny sticks around and if we follow this trend then probably next summer we will look to sign 4 strikers and then the summer after that we will get 4 wingers. Then 3 LBs the summer after that.
