Took a look through last years thread for laugh today....depressing similarities. I'm still holding on to a naive hope that we'll pull off a big name striker tomorrow. Realize there is like a 0.00007557899% chance of this happening...I like to pretend RoKo's told Bill he'll walk if they don't sign someone big.

The Everton thinks of Batshuayi

Everton still hopes to attract an attacker before the end of the summer transfer window. If Ronald Koeman had opened the door to a possible loan from Diego Costa, the arrival of the Spanish striker remains a complex issue to close. According to our information, the Chelsea striker would claim 200,000 euros a week to disembark at Goodison Park.

Everton is not accustomed to offering such exorbitant wages. On the sidelines of the Costa case, the Toffees are thinking of activating the trail leading to Michy Batshuayi. The former Marseille player who should play the doubles this season with the arrival of Morata at the Blues, would be a serious alternative for the club led by Ronald Koeman.

Worth keeping an eye on our old friend Kristof, see if he speaks on the matter - https://twitter.com/HLNinEngeland/with_replies

Don't think we have a shot in hell to sign Mahrez, seeing now he is being linked with Barcelona, Spurs and Chelsea.

20.5 hours left to go.

Why have we let it come to this after such a good start in July.

Come on Everton lets get a boss striker in to really give us a decent chance this season.
