Summer Transfer Window 2017

I stay away from it.

Walsh I assume brings in the likes of Onyekuru. We shouldnt really need/expect him to be bringing in our star striker. Sandro, Onyekeru and Vlasic are promising cheap signings, surely that's more his role?
Who knows.?

The problem with the set up we have now nobody knows who to blame:)

Trying to keep a calm head here but not bringing in a top striker (or any striker for that matter) is such a disappointing end to what was otherwise a very good window. We go into a long season with two very young, albeit promising strikers. Lets hope DCL and Sandro are up to the task.

Probably an unpopular opinion but this has been an effective window. Huge turnover, at least half the starting 11, can't integrate much more than that in one go.

Yes we missed out on a number 9 but clearly there wasn't an option that could be made to work - we're far from only club not to.get everything we want/need.

For years we've cried out for early signings and this time we did it. Problem is that then gets forgotten about and we want more. Imagine our early July business had all happened this last week instead - we'd be over the moon.

Let's get going again after the break and see where we are at end Oct. COYB.
Only unpopular with the utter melts that haunt this forum mate! If we'd have signed Messi they would be queueing up to say he was too old, too short etc.

We have spent a lot of money this window.

But it's very poor to see that the striker deal seemingly hinged on Ross leaving.

The signings we have made - I'm pleased with all of them.

And we should have enough to play decent footy and win our fair share of games.

But it puts pressure on the players to be at it over three games in seven days too often IMO. And that is down to the board. Koeman made it clear he wanted a CF in.

Time to be positive. What are the options?

1: Mirallas as a striker? 32 in 54 for Olympiakos in that position and might cheer him up a bit.
2: Sandro to settle and prove he is worthy of all the angst we expressed when we thought that we wouldn't get him?
3: If he doesn't go to Palace - RK to bury the hatchet with Niasse, give his locker back in exchange for 20 goals?
Strange thing though, as much as Niasse has been slated he would get goals for us.

On the plus side, at least we get another 6 months of watching Ashley Williams pretending to be a footballer. Something to keep us amused.

we also spent on youth...Bowler, Gibson Mathis 7 mio?)

Yes mate, agreed. You'll note that I only included senior players, or players who have played for the first team though (both in and out). Didn't want to delve into the depths of Liam Walsh, Markelo, etc

Well pointed out.
Plus massive salary increase.

Ignoring the fact of course that the club was desperate to wipe that £41m out by selling Barkley until he remembered he still had the girls of wavertree to covet

Salary increases eh. Lucky no one else in the league pays them.
